And CVS for us (on Central Coast of Calif.) told us they do NOT do COVID tests for travel - you have to be sick to get a test and has to be a walk-in. So much for CVS.
Ahh - I can drive up to Palo Alto (SF Bay Area) and do a test, but the rapid tests are NAT only and the Swab PCR tests are only guaranteed 1-2 or 3 days turnaround, not counting Sundays. Do we take the chance? or try elsewhere. research needed. Seriously, if anyone in the SF Bay Area has researched how to get a 1 day PCR test, thanks for sharing. We could stay with wife's brother in Palo Alto ahead of our flight if need be.
Try Pixel (home PCR test through LabCorp). Should be free for all California residents and results have been faster than the drive-through at UCSF. I have been getting results in less than 24 hours. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, still the same error messages. Will keep checking and report back when things change.
Able to get ONE page to load and book, but multiple error messages. It helps to keep trying to reload pages, and I get one step further, then error messages again.

Got an email saying shore excursion reservations opening 9 am PST today for June 22 cruise. Keep getting an error messages, such as "page not found," or "your booking is locked, please try later." Assuming it is just because of technical issues.

And you all can probably tell from me and Jim that Viking attracts “eccentrics”...
Hah! Glad to hear this, as I am right there with you. It will be our first time on Viking, after about 20 years of pretty much only Celebrity cruises, with an occasional dalliance.

Great Thread! Thank you to everyone for the resources. We are booked on the June 22 Bermuda cruise, and it's helpful to have the information.

Thank you very much for the updates and all the photos Norma! I will be on Millie May 17th, and am really appreciating all the information. I'm across the bridge from you in the Outer Sunset, enjoying the sunshine and cool weather. I often travel solo, and love it when I get to cruise with a friend.
Thank you again!

Sorry for the incorrect spelling; I should have typed Millennium

Hello Cruise Critic Friends!
I am going on a solo (!) cruise to Alaska to do some writing and work on presentations, and would love to know if any other LGBT Cruise Critic friends might be there. I'm always looking to make friends. Usually travel with my husband, but he has a new job and limited vacation. It would be great to meet up!
Cheers!

Hi Bob!
We lived in Delray Beach most recently (until 2010), and were in Deerfield Beach before then. We are also often at the martini bar before dinner, and will try to catch the LGBT happy hour that is usually there, otherwise we typically are at the Captain's Club lounge for pre-dinner drinks.
Very much looking forward to this cruise!
Cheers!

Hi Bob, Terry, John,
We are Jim and Fred from San Francisco, and we will be on this cruise. Haven't taken a two-week cruise in a few years, so we are really looking forward to it. We used to live in FL and got to cruise more frequently. It's far away, but I am very much looking forward to this cruise. We are two blond guys, so if you see us, please say hi!
Cheers

Hi Mike and Brad!
We just booked this same cruise. We are celebrating our 17th anniversary! We cruise on Celebrity often, and are in our early 40s. We love scuba diving, the awesome food, and are SO looking forward to this cruise. We try to make it to at least some of the LGBT meetups, usually at the martini bar. Would love to meet you guys! We are living in San Francisco, and were in Colorado and Florida before that.
Cheers!

Any other family going on the Venice to Istanbul cruise? Tim and Scott here from Massachusetts....
Hi Tim and Scott!
I will be traveling on this cruise, but without my husband, as I am going with an older friend, Don, with whom we usually travel. Hubby has a new job and can't take the time off. I hope you guys are on the cruise!
Sincerely,
Fred

Hi!
We (my hubby and I) are going on Summit out of San Juan for the 5th time (same cruise, same ship, almost the same ports!) and wanted to know if any other LGBT Cruise Critic friends will be there. We are both in our early 40's, and live in San Francisco. We LOVE Celebrity, and are bringing two friends (Don and Holly) from Austin this time.
Cheers!

Windstar now allows independent travel at French Polynesia ports

Nope, not any more. Just spoke with Windstar, and now we MUST be booked on an excursion to leave the ship. Once again, we are forced to do Windstar’s excursions and are prohibited from doing anything on our own. It’s good for their profit margins, I guess, but is a dealbreaker for many of us.
