  1. I've never had to ask for the salad to be chopped, it has always been done automatically. Is this something new?

No there is no Tutti Salad Bar on Quantum class.

There was when I was on Quantum out of Bayonne last February. It was in the American Icon on sea days.

  2. Great review. My favorite part of cruising is looking at the ocean. One thing that has me a little concerned about my upcoming Quantum cruise is that it appears that the lounge chairs on the top deck face the running track and not the ocean. So when you are sitting in a lounge chair on the top deck you are looking right in the face of those guests on the interior of the running track instead of the ocean. I know on other ships both the interior and exterior chairs on the running deck face the ocean. Can you confirm and comment on your experiences with this?

  3. I don't plan last minute, but I buy the air in advance and then wait to see which cruise will work.

I booked our August 2014 cruise in June, and about 3 weeks later prices dropped way down...about $250/pp. I ended up upgrading to connecting JS cabins for only $100/pp which I was happy with.

Now I was hoping to do the same for next year, but the air prices, which I purchased in October 2013 (at $214/pp rt) are running over $400 for the same flights for 2015. No way am I paying that, at least not this far out.

So I'll sit and watch and wait for something to come into my price comfort zone before I buy.

Hi, how are you able to purchase airfare in advance when you don't yet know which day of the week you will be leaving and returning?

    Thanks

  4. I was not impressed with the coffee onboard. I drank it when I was desperate, but it wasn't fabulous, and many times I didn't even find it palatable. Next trip I will be bringing some Starbucks VIA, which isn't my favorite, but it's much better than the ship.

If you are stopping in St. Thomas, there is a Bad Ass Coffee Shop that has fabulous coffee.

Thanks, I will definitely be bringing VIA packets then, I guess I will have to go somewhere in the morning to get hot water and creamer as I want to drink it on my balcony and I know there are no makers I that room. I thought I read somewhere that I could fill up on seattles best in the promenade but not sure when that opens in the morning

  5. First, the most exercise I get is bending my elbow tossing beers down.

    I am an early riser, 5:00 / 5:30.

There are not a lot of people out on the jogging track before 8:00. Those that are .... most are jogging. Those of us that might be strolling around are very aware of the joggers / runners, and we give you wide bearth, as we believe you are all crazy.

I confess, I am a drinker with a running problem. My favorite breakfast is scrambled legs and achin'

Thanks for the info and sorry for the bad humor.

  6. Anybody know the distance per lap for the jogging track??

    Or

How many laps equal a mile??

Next question, anyone know how early in the morning one can use the track? I typically run 13 miles before work and if i'm going around 65 times it will be difficult with people or chairs obstructing my path. Can I do it in the dark?
