  1. In my opinion no, we were there week of July 9th - most I wore was a fleece and rain jacket on the approach to the Hubbard Glacier. If anything I wore my light rain jacket but generally was in short sleeves

also, we did not buy hiking shoes/boots.

  2. We did a backwoods Jeep tour - it was the best excursion of the trip

you drive the Jeep with the tour guide leading and narrating via radio. We drove through Hoonan and went up into the mountains on logging roads and down to a beach

To me it is the equivalent to Labadee in the Caribbean - happy with the experience

  3. We had layers with fleeces and the thinsulate water resistant down jackets- I also wore a long underwear silk shirt some days my husband did not- I did buy a hat when it was raining the one day - umbrella was a pain in markets

I packed my boots at the last minute - I wore them many days for warmth and snow

  4. thanks everyone - on our last Allure cruise we headed to Central Park and snagged an outside table for lunch at Park Café. Based on what I learned we will probably do the same - we will have my husband's 80 year old mother along this trip and was trying to find an "out of the way" location. I will never go to Windjammer on boarding day again - I can't handle the chaos
