  1. I noticed this offer on our American Express cards this morning and did not see it mentioned on this forum so I wanted to pass it along:

"Get a one-time $225 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a total of $750+ on Regent Cruise sailings at rssc.com by 9/30/2017. Valid on cruise reservations only. See terms for exclusions."

The offer further states that telephone reservations to Regent as well as TA reservations are valid for the offer.

Thank you for the alert on this possible credit. Spoke with AMEX, apparently targeted to certain cardholders, been Platinum for 33 years, my card not "targeted" -- will use the our Chase Sapphire for new Regent booking tomorrow.

  3. Has anyone recently taken this "excursion" while in Civitavecchia ? I am interested in what time it actually departs the ship, time of arrival at St Peter's Station, and what time it left St Peter's for the return trip? My family will be taking a cruise in April/2018 that includes a 8am - 8pm stop in Civitavecchia and was trying to do some preliminary planning regarding combining this train ride with several other tours not sponsored by Regent. Any first-hand information would be greatly appreciated.

We have taken the Roma Express several times, once was a full day Regent tour and on the other occasions just the train itself. The guided tour was great and provided enough highlights that we postponed a planned trip to Rome for a few years. On three other occasions we took advantage of the Roma Express for transportation only to do our own site specific destinations and/or tours in Rome. Roma Express beats bus or car and the schedule is perfect for a full day either with or without the Regent tour, provided your own guide meets and returns you by 4:30 to St. Peter's Station. FYI, on our Regent tour there were two families and both parents mentioned this was a "worry free" excursion for them not having to herd everyone around Rome.

    Enjoy your cruise and Rome.

  4. Just to be clear, there is no tipping at all on the ship? Also, what about the staff at the 'free pre-cruise' hotel and drivers from hotel to ship?

I can see this thread really taking off! As in life, tipping is up to the individual.

    • From our experience pre-cruise tipping is not included in cruise package.

    • We always tip driver and guide - amount based on level of service, in fact Passages usually mentions tour tips are not part of the "all tips included" cruise package.

    • Re on board, we always give a donation to the Crew Welfare Fund, amount depends on length of our cruise. Finally it is not uncommon for frequent cruisers to tip Cabin Housekeeping Stewards (wealthiest people on board) ;) and certain wait staff.

You can't take it with you, but then again you could put it toward the next cruise!

  5. Captain: Teo Srdelic

    Gen Mgr: Massimo Arzani

    F&B: Donald Curbelo

I asked about Rio and was told the captain will probably be the same, but never 100% sure. He got on in Sydney. GM getting off and Franck Galtzy getting back on (he got off in Sydney). F&B probably staying on.

Thank you very much -- enjoy the rest of your cruise.

  6. We are trying to choose a suite for first Regent cruise. The MN is more than we need, Penthouse feels too small. Anybody been on a cruise in the SSA or SSF?? Is there a just my size suite on regent?

If the Mariner, go for Seven Seas Aft. It has 1 & 1/2 baths, larger patio and no vibration. We have booked Aft several times for longer cruises, both Port and Starboard - really enjoyed the Suite.

    Have a great trip.

  7. We are considering another cruise on the Mariner and are wondering if the Seven Seas Aft Suite has one bathroom or 1 1/2 bathrooms? The Regent website provides contradictory information -- in one place stating there are 1 1/2 bathrooms yet, when clicking on the deck plan details, only one bathroom is mentioned. We sailed in a Seven Seas Aft Suite on the Voyager where there was a wonderful deck area but just one bath.

In addition to providing this information, any other comments about the Seven Seas Aft Suite on the Mariner would be appreciated.

We have sailed on Mariner since Sept 2001, on several occasions booked Seven Seas Aft Suites (Port & Starboard), a great experience They have one full and one half bath plus a large balcony. Better than Seven Seas amid-ship. Enjoy!
