  1. You can purchase bottles at the terminal but they put a wire tie on my carry on to let them know I had liquor inside.  We stopped in the little corner on the gangway and ripped it off. You can probably cut it off with nail clippers too.

So does that mean that there's a private Carnival beach area when you get off the ship? Do you need to pay for access to it if you're a passenger?

The pool is free. You pay if you want to rent a cabana, you pay for food and drinks and I think ziplining. It's very nice

HELP! "Everything" we have been trying to book around the cruise terminal in FLL on 2-14-2020 shows "Sold Out"! The Hyatt, the Embassy Suites, Hilton, etc. I don't know if it is because of tech difficulties with the hurricane or if it IS sold out because it is Valentine's Day? Any suggestions? Should we call later this week? Look further out of town? We would take a fleabag motel at this point.  Thanks!

Did you try hotels.com?  I just looked and there's some hotels available

  4. Our ship will be in port from 3pm to 10pm in November. We are 3 adults who don't have super-adventurous palates. We do, however, want to experience some authentic PR cuisine and are willing to go a little outside our comfort zone to do so. I don't want to go all the way to PR (my first time) and eat at Applebee's!

The tasting menu at both Marmalade and Pikayo appeal to me but the price does not appeal to my husband. Can you recommend an authentic eating experience that is perhaps a little more budget friendly? We are not big wine drinkers but hubby and son would love a great mojito.

Bonus points for outdoor dining, if that's a thing in PR in November.

    Thanks in advance!

Platos or Cafe Angel. Platos has great fried pork and coconut sangria. Cafe angel is more like a mom and pop place with excellent roast pork and mofongo

  5. I will be on the Breeze in 10 days and wondering if it's safe in La Romana, Dominican Republic? Has anyone been there recently? I wanted to book a Day Pass at Dreams Resort, but it isn't offered through the cruise line and we would have to take a taxi on our own. I am concerned about that after reading some threads on how unsafe DR is and also the US Embassy warnings. The resort doesn't offer transportation arrangements, so we are wondering if we should just stay on the ship at this port?

I did a day pass there. The place is very nice and it was definitely safe.

  6. Stephanie...here it is a year later and i'm looking at your post and wondering if you spent the day at Royal Palms and used their facilities (including the pool) with no incident and if you recommend that.

Yes I did go and it was wonderful. The pool was refreshing and the food was delicious! I would go back in a heartbeat. See link to pics.

  7. I sent them an email about the cost of a day pass and this is the response I received:

    Hi there,

We do not charge a fee, you have free access to Beach bar, bathrooms, and showers.

We do rent beach chairs $10.00, Umbrellas $10.00, Floats $10.00 and we also rent Jetski's all prices are in USD.

    Thank you

Then I asked if we were able to use the pool and I received this response:

The pool is for 18 and older so yes, if you and your party are adults. If you choose to use a cabana around the pool then we ask that you have lunch.

    Thanks for your interest.
