  1. You can look at the cabin on the deck plans online and see where the bump out in your wall is- that is where the bed is. If you are having trouble figuring it out, you can give me your cabin number I can let you know if the bed is by the bath or by the balcony. :D

With apologies if these requests might drive you crazy, but we're in 11241 on the April TA. My suspicion is the bed is by the balcony, not my preference, but would you confirm what you think? Thanks !

  2. It looks to me like 9158 has the bed near the balcony, whereas 9156 has the bed near the bathroom.

Hi there. How are you able to tell the configuration of the room? I've asked Celebrity to confirm if my bed in cabin 11241 on my Edge cruise is next to the balcony or bathroom, and at the time I asked, they couldn't tell me. I don't see any icons on the deck plan that would indicate bed by balcony or bathroom. Thanks.

  3. Has anyone visited Emerald Beach since the hurricane and Celebrity's return to the island? Wondering about its condition.

I was on Summit in January and went to Emerald Beach. It was open, although some of the damage was still evident. We rented 2 chairs under an "umbrella" and bought a couple of beers and had lunch at the restaurant there. No issue, and a quick $4 taxi pp ride from Crown Bay dock.

  4. Here's a link to taxi info that is very handy. Also, you'll see that the cost is $10 for Old San Juan > Pan American Pier (+ $1/bag). https://sanjuanpuertorico.com/taxis/

Thanks for this link...very helpful. If you, or anyone has taxi'd from airport to cruise port recently, can you comment on availability of large, van-type taxis? We are arriving this Saturday (6 of us) and am wondering if we will be able to get a taxi that can handle the 6 of us plus luggage (1 piece per person approx.) Assuming there are large taxis, would you assume the rate to be the same ($19 each way?)

    Thanks!

  5. Our cruise will be stopping in Le Havre for a day and we would like to visit Honfleur. How do we get there? I've read about the bus, but with the schedule being infrequent and us not speaking French it just seems too stressful.

We are a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids). To fit us, we need a large van taxi that accomodates 5 passengers. Can we count on finding a taxi at the port? Is there a way to pre-order a taxi? Also, how do we get a taxi to go back to port?

You will have no problem getting a taxi at the port to take you to Honfleur. We did same several years ago, and typically taxis will come back for you at an agreed to time to take you back to the ship. We paid the taxi fare on the return. Honfleur is charming - a very nice day.

  6. Hank, thank you so much for your reply and the link. I'm having difficulties with their on- line inquiry form so I will have to call them. It looks as if they do rent from VsM. I'll report back.

Just to close this out, try as I might, I am unable to get any answer at the number listed for Villefranche (possibly a mobile) and my French is not good enough to understand the voice message I get. So, at this point, I assume no car rental agency operates there, so will rely on bus to Nice, bus to Eze Village, and either do same for return or perhaps even walk down the path to catch train back to VsM.

Hank, if I catch #100 bus from Octroi will bus drop me at the stop where I pick up the bus to Eze? Thanks.

  7. It has been a few years since we rented a car in this port. You might want to check with Locauto.fr to see if they are still doing rentals at the tender pier. I think the direct link for their location is:

Good luck. And if you do rent from this agency please post your experience here...so that we can all have the latest info :).

  8. Hi all. We will stop in Villefranche in late April for the day. I have read everything I can from this forum on ways to get to Eze Village, and have come to the conclusion that a rental car would give us more flexibility, and we'd not have to rely on infrequent buses. However, I can not see that any car rental company operates in Villefranche. Has anyone picked up a rental car there, and if so, what company? Thanks much!

  9. I'm sure I will have not trouble spending it, but just wanted to know .... just in case. It is all from Celebrity so therefore it is non refundable.

I will find something to spend it on.

Can the nonrefundable OBC be used for gratuities?

    Thanks.

  10. On a recent Transatlantic cruise on Reflection, there was quite a back-up waiting for a table in Select Dining. It may have been an issue with the fact that the suite only restaurant, Luminae had just opened reducing some of the seats in the MDR. Does anyone have a perspective on whether that is still an issue...i.e. long waits? Thanks!

  11. I booked my cruise in November through the big online TA that starts with a "C" and received the classic drink pkg as a perk. I just called the Celebrity Enhancement Dept to upgrade it to the premium pkg because another thread says the upgrade will increase after Feb. 18th.

Celebrity said the drink pkg is not showing up on my booking. They left me on hold awhile and checked with group sales, as this is a group booking. They then came back on and told me I had to contact the travel agency to have it added.

I called the travel agent and was told Celebrity is no longer adding the drink pkg until weeks before sailing, and is going by sail date. I have booked two cruises with this agency before and never had this happen. The TA said the prices will not increase for those who had the drink pkg through the promotion and upgrade.

Just checking to see what others are experiencing and if this is true.

I had the same issue - travel agent did not add the Classic Package as my choice for the 123 promo. I called Celebrity directly, they added the package, and they also did the upgrade to Premium Package for $11.50 delta/per day.
