  1. Also onboard and enjoying the afternoon "at sea" at the dock! I have a few questions that may or may not be answered:

    1. Is this the agreed protocol with the Iceland federal government and local authorities? This was the "plan"? It seems a bit excessive for one positive test and no other issue.

    2. Will the next port have the same reaction? (same protocol question too)

Sigh. Love the little waterfall up the hill on the starboard side...

So good to get this news as we were on the Quest for less than half of our 65 days last spring when Covid 19 happened and we have amassed significant future cruise credits. Likely we will not be travelling from our country until we are vaccinated which may not happen until late 2021 or early 2022.

We have so enjoyed our 25 cruises with Azamara and would like to give the new owners the benefit of the doubt.

The 2022 cruises in this brochure are not listed on the UK Princess web site. I also checked the web site of a well know US cruise travel agent and they are not listed there either.

Perhaps these cruises are only being sold to Australia and New Zealand residents. Also, are the prices in US$ or AUD$?

    Is anyone able to clarify?

    Supposedly open for sale 16SEP.

  4. The Mrs (age 60) had hip replacement surgery on 26JUN - same day procedure which is the standard for our Kaiser managed care in California. Her recovery has been fairly quick because she prepped by swimming/pool walking for a few months prior and was back to the pool after 4 weeks. She is not the average but shows with a little planning you can manage the recovery. I'd say April is reasonable and a good cruise goal. We have January Windstar Tahiti reservations that we are hoping but not losing sleep if it goes away.

  5. Both the Millennium and Eclipse are showing the same - no availability for Asia Fall 2020 except for suites. I have seen this just before cancellation of voyages a lot this year lol - however it has been the same for the Millennium for a week or so (and Eclipse just as of yesterday) - so we shall see....!

  6. Holland America Line Extends Temporary Pause Of Its Global Ship Operations For 30 Additional Days

Cruises departing through May 14 are now cancelled.
    FOLLOW: Updates on Zaandam

Seattle, Wash., Mar. 30, 2020 (7:15 AM PDT) — Due to the continued port closures and travel restrictions surrounding global health concerns, Holland America Line has made the decision to extend its pause of global cruise operations for an additional 30 days, cancelling sailings scheduled to depart through May 14, 2020.

Guests currently booked on cruises from April 14 through May 14 and their travel advisors will receive notification from Holland America Line in the coming days regarding options for selecting either a Future Cruise Credit for 125% of their booking value plus an additional $250 shipboard credit or a full refund.

“As the world addresses global health concerns, travel has come to a temporary standstill as communities take necessary precautions to protect themselves,” said Orlando Ashford, president of Holland America Line. “All of us at Holland America Line are wishing everyone the best during this unprecedented time. ”

All bookings will automatically be cancelled through May 14. Guests do not need to call to cancel; however, they may use the online Cancellation Form to indicate their preference for a 125% Future Cruise Credit with a bonus $250 shipboard credit or 100% refund.  Holland America Line will reimburse cancellation fees for air and other arrangements for travel to and from the cancelled cruise. (This does not apply to chartered sailings.)

Holland America Line kindly requests that all those booked on cruises from April 14 through May 14 to not call reservations for assistance as hold times are expected to be very long, and their booking will automatically cancelled over the coming week. Guests do not need to call to cancel their bookings, but can indicate their preferences using the online Cancellation Form by June 1, 2020.  We sincerely thank everyone for their patience and understanding.

  7. OK - I have clients on board 8/20 who are booking sailings for next year. I received the email confirmations yesterday and it was very confusing - Buy One Get One half off and then additional dollars off that were odd figures - so I called..... The discounts they are being offered are now tied to their tier and are a percentage of the fare (and NCCFs). It starts at 3% for lowest level and maxes out at 10% for top tier. In addition, I was informed that the internet packages would now be a discount off (vs. free minutes).

NOTHING in writing at this point - isn't that great?

  8. But if we use the pictures everyone found - it is 300 credits for Elite and 750 credits for Elite Plus (3000 for Zenith ha!).

    Conversion:

current credits X 30 to get started. so 10 current credits is Elite (300), 25 is Elite plus (750) and 100 is Zenith (300). My cruise history goes back to the Zenith in 1993 and we are Founders - so figuring out "days" is nearly impossible.

    New Credits:

    15 credits for 2-5 days

    25 credits for 7-11 days

50 credits for 12 days or longer

15 bonus credits for Aqua Class or Suite (2-5 days)

25 bonus credits for Aqua Class or Suite (7 days or longer)

Benefits? who knows. I think drink pacakage is a good idea.....

  9. A google image search finds a picture from the same page of a woman climbing out of the main pool on an S Class with the words "Zenith: 3000+ points" on a banner at top left.

    The plot thickens!

Correct - found that and the rest of the images a few weeks ago (and downloaded them) before they were password protected. I truly wanted to give my friends at Celebrity their "glory" to announce in their own time.....
