  1. The last dress code post mostly addressed what the gents wear. Let’s talk about the ladies, shall we? I’ll be on my first Regent cruise shortly and I’m a little worried about not fitting in. Am I expected to wear palazzo pants and an Alex Evenings blouse every single evening lest I be looked down upon as a “scruff”? Or are dressy wide leg pants and a nice blouse (think Sunday brunch attire) acceptable? I’m stressing out about this. Any advice would be appreciated.

  2. Mr. Fudge I cannot begin to tell you how much I've enjoyed your posts. I will be embarking the Explorer in Japan on 20 October 22 and your daily posts have heightened my anticipation. Your humor is wonderful and I find myself eagerly signing on the CC every day just to read your posts

Now...could you ask Mrs. Fudge a question for me please? Is it necessary for ladies to dress in their finery every single evening for dinner? As in always in palazzo pants and an Alex Evenings dressy top, or is something a little less formal acceptable?? Will a cashmere cardigan and dress pants pass muster? Mrs. Fudge will know what palazzo pants are and who Alex is...not need to worry.

Thanks, Mr. Fudge. I do so wish I could have sailed with you and the Mrs.

    Warmest regards from Chicago!

  3. Hopping back on a Princess ship for the first time in many years to Alaska in September. I am beyond frustrated with both the app and the website. The app works...sometimes. Then again, sometimes not. I can't log in with user name and password, must use booking number. Tried to hop on the app again and it won't load. The website is no better. Can't find reservations that I made. Sometimes they show, most times they don't. Any tips to making these things easier to use?? Thank you.

  4. While perusing available dining packages on my upcoming Apex cruise, I noticed that packages of 3-5 speciality dining reservations were being offered at an 8% discount. This is just a reminder that as an Elite Plus member, you are automatically given a 15% discount on specialty dining reservations. I made the mistake of getting a speciality dining package on my B2B cruises last February and didn't want anyone else to miss out on savings like I did!

    Happy cruising!

  5. I can't be the only one who is dismayed that the new head of Celebrity is trying to incorporate more "Royalness" into the cruise line. I choose Celebrity because I enjoy the more upscale experience that it has traditionally offered. The blurring of the brands makes me think she is going to look for more way to cut costs on Celebrity at the expense of service, amenities included in fares, and a more centralized focus on being "family-oriented". There are already enough cruise lines that cater to water slides, kid-friendly amenities and mega ships. The "luxury" lines like Regent and Oceania skew much older than I like and are far too expensive to allow me to cruise regularly on them. Celebrity was always the sweet spot. A little more refined than Royal and a lot less stuffy than Regent. I feel like the upscale elegance the line has always been known for is not trending in the right direction with the addition of Coco Cay. Thoughts???

  6. I have booked a B2B on the Beyond next year and am wondering what the procedure is for turnaround day. Unfortunately we will be moving cabins so I can't just leave my stuff in the room. I've heard different ships do turnaround days differently. Anyone have recent experience on an Edge class ship?

    Thanks!

  7. Looking for feedback from someone who has stayed in a Royal Suite on the Edge.  Is there a door between the master bedroom and the master bath? Is the bed convertible to two twins? And lastly, it appears as though there is a screen between the bedroom and the bathroom just above the headboard. Can you see into the bathroom from the bedroom?? Will be sharing a cabin with a traveling companion, not a significant other. TIA for any help. 😲

  8. I was curious to know the extent of the renovations on the Reflection after her most recent dry dock. I asked my TA to inquire and she received the following response from Celebrity:

There was no mention in the official email of any other refurbishments. Some CC readers have said that new room entry locks were installed and that there was new carpeting in the common areas as well.

Can anyone confirm that Cafe al Baccio got refreshed? When we sailed RF last May, the chairs, tables and carpet in that area were awful. Chairs were threadbare, carpet was dirty and the chairs lacked any kind of support.

Any other areas of the ship that look recently spruced up?

In a follow up email, Celebrity confirmed that Reflection is scheduled to undergo a full dry dock in 2022.

  9. On the Reflection in the Med 5/17, the room service menu had macaroni and cheese. This is a do not miss selection!! Each serving is portioned into a ramakin and put under the broiler just prior to being delivered. It was the cheesiest, creamiest best all-around mac n cheese I've ever had!

  10. I've adopted my own method for dealing with this issue. I simply removed the materials being used as "dibs" and take a seat. If/when (which is very infrequently) the offending individual returns and demands "their" seat back, I say very politely "this chair was unoccupied for over an hour and I'm sitting here now. If you'd like to leave your cabin number with the bartender, I'll arrange to have him call you when I'm ready to leave. Have a very pleasant day!". Most people stumble away, muttering under their breath.
