Sue, I really do feel for you and your disappointed children. If you can't find something else suitable for you all at this late date then I hope you can have a fun staycation at home anyway.

Thank you. We couldn't get booked in anywhere due to need for accessibility. We have however booked some Christmassy things to do from home, so hopefully we can replace their disappointment with some happy thoughts.

What a real shame for the wee ones.

It may not suit you but have you thought about something like Center Paris, they have good facilities and at this time of the year they do a winter wonderland with lots of activities. Just had a quick look and they do have some availability but depends where you live for journey length.

There are also day flights to Lapland available this weekend, husky rides etc

I hope you get something sorted out.

Yes, we have rung almost everyone. Because of the disabilities, we need wheelchair accessible and they are few and far between. All sold out at Centre Parks, Butlins, Alton Towers and a few more as well 😢

  3. We are the unlucky ones who have had our cruise cancelled. It may seem a little disappointment, but we were taking my two disabled children, who were given the cruise when they visited santa last week. They are now inconsolable as they were both so very excited. I have rung everywhere I can think of to try to book something else, but at this time of year, everywhere is booked solid. All we can do is day trips.

  4. Leaving in the morning for my Med cruise.....does anyone want to come pack for me? The thought of dragging the suitcase out and filling it really doesn't sound like fun right now.

At least I did print everything out......after the usual run to the office supply store to buy new ink cartridges of course.

    :D

Golly gosh!!! Your excitement is contagious..........lol. Are you on Jade? We are leaving on Friday and my packing was done last week (well, if I am honest, probably the week before). Spending a couple of nights in Barcelona and I am getting really excited now!

  5. Does anyone know what time breakfast is served until on Jade please? We are on from 2nd May and I really don't want to be up early to eat breakfast as I have to be up really early at home. Also, does the buffet stay open for late night snacks?

    Thank-you

  6. I will hate leaving my jewelry at home though!

I am not sure why you would need to. I live in UK and have done over 20 European cruises. I wear 4 gold bracelets and gold necklace and earrings. I never take them off and have never had any issues.........neither has anyone I know.

Don't be worried, just be alert and you will be fine. I would definitely pack a sweater for evenings though as it can still be chilly during the evenings.

  7. Not on NCL. We've called and paid to upgrade our cabin, but the price quoted is always quite simply the difference between what the cabin is currently selling for on ncl.co.uk and the price we paid.

Yes, that is exactly what I found out. We were quoted £300 more than the current selling price for an upgrade that wasn't really worth the difference. Never mind, I will wait until I win the lottery and then have a Haven suite...........:-)

  8. Sounds high,,, even for a 21 day cruise. On the other hand, it would be much more comfortable for that long a cruise,,,, at any price.

That wasn't for full 21 days, that was just for the 14 day segment so as was said, Nearly $600pp per week!

I got back to them this morning, but they cannot offer me one cabin for the whole cruise and are not prepared to drop the price of the upgrade. I have looked on their website and the total price they are asking to upgrade for the 14 night segment is £5024, nearly £300 more than the advertised price. I think I might buy some nice earrings instead.......:)

  9. I emailed reservations this week to see if they do have any upsells on Jade for 2nd to 21st May. Bearing in mind we are in UK.

I received a reply today offering a balcony cabin for the first 5 days at £35 pp ($50) They don't have a balcony for 7th to 21st, so offered a mini-suite midship but with an extra cost of £1600 for 2 people ($2300) . That didn't sound like too much of a deal to me. What do you think?

  10. We docked there a few years back as part of a Princess cruise. We don't usually book shore excursions and we had Mum, son in a wheelchair , daughter, partner and myself.

We got off the ship and took a local taxi. He took us to see the geysers, Blue Lagoon, waterfall and many more sights. We had a lovely day and it cost us around £100.

That might be an option for you.

  11. We are sailing on Jade for 19 days from 2nd May. I have just been looking through the NCL site and found out that if I had booked now, we would have paid £1000 ($1450ish) less! I am now thinking that I could have had another cruise with that. It will teach me not to be so curious in future..:(

  12. Hi,

We are sailing on Jade in May as our first NCL cruise. We have a free UBP and pre-paid service charges.

I have been reading through the posts and am a little confused as some folks are talking about having to pay a charge on all of their drinks. Is this what our pre-paid service charge refers to or is it the daily amount charged to our account for 'gratuities' that is pre-paid?
