The Commodore left the Ruby last Thursday when we were in Cabo San Lucas. He was going to Australia to be on the Sea Princess, with his final cruise that will sail from Australia to Southhampton. Then a life of retirement. He joked that he will continue to cruise but he will start out with a blue card. He is so personable and will be missed.

Do you remember which night the surf and turf was served in the dining room? Was it Tuesday or Wednesday? We are trying to plan which night to eat at Crown Grill and my husband doesn't want to go the night when they served that in the DR. Thanks so much for posting the Patters so we could see which night has the new show "Magic to do".

Thank you Trish, I just talked to Princess rep. she said the notice was e-mailed, not regular mailed, which I still never got. She said the promo started on May 18 & that it is for bookings made until December 31 2015, space available. The deposit is refundable. And if refared, like for a new perk Princess is giving in the future, we don't lose the casino discount. She said it is combinable. So far it has worked for the Panama canal cruise on 11-16-16 & Hawaii 3-13-17 both R/T from LA. We book full suites, so it was a pretty good discount.
I wonder why there is not more talk about this on the CC boards. I guess like us, people don't know about it, until you go to book something, especially since like us, not getting the e-mail yet or at all. Or maybe for So. Cal. residents only, whatever it is great, but not getting much off when pricing with TAs .
Thanks again,
Grace
Thanks Grace for all the info on the casino promotion discount. I will need to check out other potential cruises and see if discount will be applicable.

I thought that also, but then I called Princess back to see why they were now showing the prices higher than what I was locked in for & she said we had a casino promotion pricing.
Has anyone ever heard of this??????, we never received a letter the Princess rep said we should have received regarding this.
I would appreciate any info any of you know about this,
Grace
I recently received an email about casino promotion pricing. It is up to 25% for Alaska, Japan, and Europe cruises and up to 35% for Caribbean, Mexico and other cruises. A balcony savings is 25% for the Panama Canal cruises. The discount for cruises from 3 to 20 days. I didn't realize it was for cruises in 2016. The email was silent about time frames. I also heard that it was only so many cabins per cruises. and you have to book the cruise this year, but the email didn't give many particulars. I heard that Princess knows when to apply the discount so I guess they gave that price to my TA and that it why I have such a great discount.

We really don't know if that price included the port charges and taxes. If not that could add another $390 to the price. And what location?
It doesn't include the port charges or taxes, but it now on Princess our category for a balcony is going for about $3,300 without port charges and taxes.

Did you book the 19 day Panama Canal R/T from Los Angeles? If you did, you got a super deal on a balcony for $2,500 pp. I see balcony's being priced starting at $3299 on the Princess website.
Yes, I was surprised we received such a good price. I looked later in the day and saw that this cabin category was going for over $3,300. Our TA booked within a hour of the booking opened. Not sure how we got it for such a great price, but very happy.

Our TA able to book us a balcony cabin on RT PANAMA Canal trip on Caribe deck first thing this morning. Fare is about $2,500 per person or about $132 per day. Looks like good price. Did this trip in 2008 and loved it!

The information on the port of LA's website shows that on Jan 3 the Crown will be at B92 while the Grand will be at B93. It shows that the Crown will be at B93 for your return date on Jan 6. You would think that Princess' customer service should be able to look up this info.

thanks for the info about the theme of Café Caribe on the Patters. That is good news.

Carlos Oscar is going to be on the upcoming Sapphire Princess cruise that leaves this Saturday (March 1) from San Pedro. It is a 10 day cruise to Mexican Riviera. Love his humor!

do they place the theme (German, Italian, or Mexican) of the meal in Café Caribe in the Princess Patter? as one who can not eat certain types of food, it is important that I can see the theme and compare it to what is in the dining rooms. thanks for any input on Café Caribe on the Ruby.
