  1. Never used Uber.....sounds like a good idea though. How do you know the car is yours so anyone else doesn't jump into it?

I've used Uber whenever I could. I've never even heard of a story where someone got their Uber ride taken. Once you book it you'll get sent a picture of the car picking you up and a picture of the driver. Plus the driver will call you. Make sure to look for a discount code for your first time use. They're all over the internet. Can save 20 - 25 bucks.

  2. On my last Caribbean cruise I did some jewelry shopping for the first time ever. I ended up getting a very good discount on a nice watch in Cozumel. From what I understand some ports have better deals than others for certain types of jewelry/watches. This is my first time in the Riveria so if anyone has suggestions on what to shop for and where I'd love to hear it. These are my stops.

    • Mazaltan

  3. Just signed up with an excursion through them and am pretty excited about it. In the confirmation they sent out a discount card that could be used in the Mazaltan area. Do the businesses easily accept this discount card or did it end up being more trouble than shopping/eating without trying to apply the discount card?

  4. Do extreme canopy in PV. Goes south a way from where the violence is. Just did the excursion last week. Had so much fun ziplining and rapelling down water falls.

I just signed up for this excursion. Glad to hear it was fun. Any advice for someone that's never done this before?

  5. It looks like you may have spent more time composing this review than the time you spent on the actual cruise :) I've been on Carnival before, but this is my first time on the Miracle and first time porting out of the West coast. There was a little bit of discussion comparing Carnival to Norwegian so here is my two cents.

I took my first Norwegian cruise last year. I had been told the service was top notch compared to Carnival and RC. I, honestly, didn't notice a difference. I thought the service was good on all three but none stood out above the others. Some people seem to like Norwegians anytime dining. I found it frustrating. There were times I'd show up and they'd say it's a 30 minute wait which really screws you up when you made plans to see a show after dinner. Then the one time I went expecting a 30 minute wait they said "come right in". Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

  6. This is my first time on the Dawn, leaving on the 15th, so I can't compare to the other restaurants. However, I have been to the Brazilian style restaurants before and really like them. At only $20 this is a huge bargain. I don't know if you could find a Brazilian restaurant for under $35 anywhere in the US. I'm a huge carnivore so if the meat isn't the best of the best I'll be OK. Anyway, is it worth the $20 charge?

  7. One of the funnest times I ever had on any cruise ship was when we had an evening trip to Senor Frogs. That was incredible. Last year I actually stayed in Atlantis, and went to Senor Frogs late in the evening (but before midnight) and it was completely shut down. No lights, no people, no activity at all. The next night it was open, but very tame, and I think it was just a few locals.

I will be going back to Atlantis this year, and wanted to know if there is a way to tell if Senor Frogs will be having an active night, or if it will be pretty much shut down.

  8. Has anyone been there in the past year? I was there in late November, and the new owner was just starting. He was a really cool guy, and had some big plans for the place. I plan on going again in late November this year. Just wanted to know if anyone had any updates on how it is progressing.
