My biggest concern has been and continues to be a fear of being quarantined. I'm still working and it's a job I can't do from home. I can afford to take a week or two off for a vacation. I can't afford to take 2 weeks off for a vacation plus another 2-4 for a quarantine. Until ships start sailing and the issue of getting stuck at sea or quarantined has been resolved I'm not willing to risk getting stuck.

This is exactly my issue. We’re booked on a British Isles cruise end of September that I’ve been waiting 2 years for but I work in a large health system and there is no way I can get stuck not being able to go back to work. Plus the UK is also in terrible shape. This would have been my first NCL cruise and while I know that Celebrity has beyond exceptional cleaning and hand gel procedures (long before any of this, I’m not sure about NCL and the bottom line is....cruise ships are floating petrie dishes ( and I’m an RN). So sadly we’re 99% sure we’re canceling.

  2. Thanks. I have no intention of bringing the passport with me into port. I am actually not a US citizen but am a permanent resident with a green card. I was curious about the passport since I am sailing at the end of March and my passport expires in July which is before the 6 month expiry generally required by many countries. Believe my passport and green card will be securely locked in the room safe. I guard them very well!

  3. Hi. I've been on 2 other cruises with Celebrity in the Mediterranean. On one they took and kept our passports for the duration of the cruise and on the other they didn't.

Question- we are cruising out of Puerto Rico for a 7 day Carribbean trip, will they take our passports? TIA!

  4. After attempting for a couple of days to select tours on web site, I finally had TA call Celebrity guest relations and Celebrity sales rep. about the problems relating to the web site. The "bottom line" was TA was told to give me phone number for shore excursion desk. After being put on "hold" for 40 minutes, I was able to speak with a most helpful staff member at the shore excursion desk, booked our tours, and received an email confirmation almost immediately. The shore excursion agent was very aware of the problems on the Celebrity web site and indicated that they have been very busy answering phone calls due to a problematic web site. I was also encouraged to make special dinning reservations by phone as opposed to using the web site. Until the Celebrity web site is fixed and becomes user friendly. I will use "Ma Bell"!

I booked shore excursions today without any problem at all.
