I am going on a nine-day British Isle cruise and turning platinum. We are spending three days in London prior to our cruise. How soon can we make use of the platinum laundry offer? I'd love to use it the day after we board since we are trying to keep our luggage to a minimum.

I love trivia and have several ships on sticks from playing. It is my favorite thing to do, especially on sea days. But lately it seems there are only groups playing that often include someone with a phone getting answers. I wish they would offer team trivia and triva with just one or two people. I don't stand a chance against a group of 6 or 7 by myself.

I have earned six ships on sticks playing trivia, by myself or with my cabinmate. Trivia is my favorite sea day activity. Last two cruises it hasn't been as much fun playing against big teams and phone cheaters. I would love it if they limited the number of players on a team and outlaw phone useage.

I played for about an hour and a half, breaking even, but like I said, it was all about having fun with the other players at the table, and having a few drinks.
I stopped back at the cabin to see if Patti was going to go to the Groove for St. Jude, but she was enjoying the sunshine, so I grabbed the camera and up I went. Here are the Avalon Pool and hot tub…..
People are lining up to purchase the Groove for St. Jude merchandise…..
DJ OJ and Cruise Director Gabe get the Lido crowd into the groove!
The towel elephant and the photographer pose for a picture…..
I head over to the Red Frog Rum Bar to visit my buddy Argee. Today, I’m in a mood for some Angry Balls. For the uninitiated that’s an Angry Orchard, in a tall glass with ice, and a shot of Fireball. Hey, for $4 more make it a double!
Cruise Critic member Barbara, (SCcruiser123), stops by to say hello. It was a pleasure to meet you!
To be continued……
Great to finally meet you Jamman! I’ve enjoyed your trip reports for years.I’ve enjoyed your trip reports for years.

I live in Charleston but would regularly drive to the Jacksonville port because it was almost $200 cheaper than Charleston. The blue bloods here feel they have more than enough tourists visiting and complained about traffic, noise and pollution. I heard that Charleston will become a visiting port but not an embarkation port. Sad for all the workers, and suppliers who worked getting the ship ready for turn around. Not to mention the hotels for cruise visitors.

We will be Halifax in early September. I am having trouble finding the HOHO bus tour online. HOHO busses are our go-to way to visit a new torn., Wondering if covid caused some of these tours to shut down. If you can share any info on this for us we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

September 2022 New England and Canada from Baltimore

If we have only paid a $250 deposit will that be credited to new booking? Any chance we can get a refund if we decide to wait to said again?

November on the Breeze. First we were booked for September on the Radiance to New England and Canada which was cancelled since the ship wasn't ready. We were happy to get the $600 OBC to rebook. Now anxious about cruising in November.

Never had a problem with breakfast room service- always on time. We use it as our wakeup call. We order a pot of coffee and some croissants to tide us over during morning showers and getting dressed for the day. Then to the brunch or dining room for a real breakfast. When we were on RCL it was always very early or very late and we finally stopped ordering for the mornings.

Many great memories! Some of the best are cave tubing in Belize, walking tour of old Cartagena, the incredible white sand and blue water of Half Moon Cay, zip lining in Roatan, Martini Seduction at the Alchemy Bar!

I did not realize that there were two different menus. I just knew they had good Italian food for free during lunch. Thanks for clearing things up for me. I look forward to enjoying lunch (and possibly dinner) there.

Cruising on the Carnival Radiance in September. The itinerary has us in Boston 4-10 pm. We usually like taking a HOHO bus to see the sights and get off to do more exploring, but I don't think they will run that late. Any other suggestions for evening tours?

I am booked for the New England Canada cruise on the Radiance in September. When I cruised on the Dream a few years ago, the Cucina del Capitano restaurant was free for lunch, but charged for dinner. Will it be the same on the Radiance?

Love, love, love the cove balcony. I always book one if its available. Close to the water so you really feel like you're cruising. Love to hear the waves at night. They are also shady and more private.

We will be flying into NYC to catch a Carnival cruise in mid September. Is it easier to fly into JFK or LaGuardia? Taxi or Uber to port? Any idea on the cost to get there? Thanks!

We pick morning and ask the steward to just do a quick check in the evenings to see if we need fresh towels or beach towels replaced. No need for turn down service.

I enjoy the MDR-I love being waited on and served several courses. I usually travel with a group of friends and we may go our different ways throughout the day, but we always meet up for dinner.

I've gotten a survey after each cruise I've taken. Crew members tell me that they can receive bonus days off and those crew members that receive the most praises are publicly recognized amongst the staff. Enough praises can help with a promotion. I take photos of the dining room table card with serving staff listed and the info card from my room steward to make sure I get the names spelled correctly. I have also asked the bar staff to write down their names for me so I can remember them on my survey. They all work very hard and I am happy to help give them any rewards they can get.

We used VIP Express shuttle from Houston hotel to the port and back to the airport after the cruise. Emmanuel was the owner and was great to work with.

We used VIP Express from a Galveston hotel to the port a couple of weeks ago. Emmanuel was our contact and he was great to work with. He will pick up from with Hobby or Bush airport.
What's the Carnival bartender's expectation?

My friends and I always tip in cash, usually $1 each drink. The money goes quickly into the bartender's pockets. The bartenders always remember us and our drinks are always potent and plentiful.
