I used Ameritrade this week and bought 100 shares of CCL. I'm not really a gambler but I'm 57 so have time to sit on it (I Hope)since it will go to my boys someday anyways.

Are you on the Panorama?  We are booked for Feb and have been told they are docking much earlier than 9 AM.

My husband and I LOVE Jamaica. We have been three times staying at all inclusive(Sandals) and more than 3 times on cruise stopovers. If you go to a plantation or jungle tour BOOK A CRUISELINE EXCURSION. Or in other words, just be smart. Remember, we may be on vacation. but this is their way of life. It's a poor country so they may be pushy but it is beautiful and worth getting off the ship for in my opinion.

That is very unusual, I have not seen a "free" upgrade in at least 15 years. Up sells seem to be what they try and use these days and sometimes will lower the "up sell" price over time if they do not get any takers the first time around.

Right- and this was only like 4-5 yrs ago. We were sitting in the Denver airport the day before when she called. I remember it being no big deal to them since it was their first cruise and they didn't know what to expect. BUT I have been in every category and knew it was something special. With that being said, I would not pay the $1000 at this point.

I have been upgraded to a full suite on a 7 day and it was wonderful! It was my mom, sister-in-law and I who had booked a mini-suite. We are very loyal to princess and didn't cost us a dime.

We were on the princess last year on a 2 week Hawaiian cruise. Halfway through I booked the steahouse for the 4 of us. It was $25 pp and worth very penny. Great service and food. My husband said we should have done it twice and he's close with his money at times. We leave on the freedom in a couple weeks and it's a must do. I hear great reviews.

You have a lot of good info. I will give you a couple comparisons if you can stand any more. We have been lido balcony and loved the location-close to front pool,waterslide, food ,etc. We were right of the elevator/stairs and right to our room. Very convenient.

The aft wrap is for the views that you don't get in a balcony really because it's the one side as well as the whole back.. The deck is large and my sil and i could have slept out there-very peaceful. The first night out to sea it was rocky but not too bad. There are still pools and food above and below you so it's not far to anything. Of course bars being everywhere.

As far as smoke-we we're never bothered by it on aft but we had a cigar smoker beside us in balcony. Can't control that I guess.

We booked a lido balcony simply because we are traveling with another couple and trying to keep costs down. Aft was double the price.

We're booked in a lido balcony and if a aft wrap comes available, I would jump at it. I've been in an aft wrap suite and the view was to die for.

They do call- They called and left a message on my home phone and contacted me in the Denver airport the day before when we were flying down.

We have only received one upgrade ever so wanted to share. Two yrs ago my sil, mother and I took a 7 day Eastern Caribbean on princess. We booked a mini suite and got the upgrade call the day before the sailing. They put us in a full suite with all amenities(AND there were LOTS) It was the aft wrap around that sell for $7000 a week. We paid $999 each as the upgrade didn't cost us a penny. Did I mention this was their FIRST CRUISE? The way I look at it that was my once in a lifetime so not expecting anymore calls----

I should mention however that we rolled the dice( with their secret hotels or whatever they call it) on a 4 star and this is what we ended up with. Also fees/taxes add another $25.

Booked with hotwire for Feb 1 and got it for $150.

Keith- We thought about doing that but my brother and his wife fly in 3.5 hours after us so thought we could go check into a nearby hotel with a shuttle. We will just have to get moving a little earlier the next day to head to fll.
