  1. Leaving for Western out of houston tomorrow. We have done the sanctuary before, but on the first come first served basis. Would like to book for full week, but I hear it is a race to get to the Sanctuary first.

Boarding doors start at noon. How soon do you think we should get there and be in line to check in so we can make it to the Sanctuary to get our seats?

    10 AM?

Curious, we are booked for November out of Houston. Were you able to book?

  2. I agree that consistent tipping gets you remembered and also results consistent service. At dinner each night, the sommelier would take the time and recommend various types of wine by what we eating for dinner that night. He would always make sure that our wine glasses were always full. After dinner and dropping our daughter at the kids club, we would usually go to the casino bar and they would start preparing our drinks as they saw us walk in. When we were on the Summit, we would go down every morning to Cafe Al Bacio to get speciality coffee, water etc. We usually saw the captain each morning at the Cafe and he liked to talked to my daughter because he girl about the same age. He noticed that we always tipped when we got our drinks and he thanked us for doing that. He mentioned that the bartenders and waitstaff work so hard and that while a few dollars here or there might not mean much to us, it it really appreciated by them.

Thanks for posting this I am glad to know this comment. I start collecting one dollar bills well before the cruise. It is fairly easy to collect a one here and there and then bless others with it.

  3. We always tip an extra $1 in cash per drink, have had the premium beverage package the last 4 cruises. We were having lunch at Bistro on 5 with some new friends on embarkation day on a cruise last year and the sommelier from the cellar masters spotted me and came over to ask how we were doing. We stop there every night for a glass of wine prior to dinner. I have to believe frequency and extra tipping were the reason.

  4. Does anyone have a Blu restaurant wine by the glass menu? We have the classic package and are trying if it is worth upgrading to Premium based on the wine slection.

While I do not have the list based on my experience it is well worth the upgrade. You can also find wines by the glass at the wine bar (Cellar Masters) and take that with. The Sommelier was very helpful and accommodating.

  5. I think I won the Aqua class lottery yesterday.Celebrity lowered the price on A1 staterooms for the 8/18 Summit Bermuda cruise from $1549 to $1049 pp.I immediately upgraded and found cabin # 1138 available. Thanks to this thread,I booked #1138.My last Aqua class cruise was on the Silhoette in 2011 and have to ask do they still have the sparkling wine in your stateroom on embarkation day?

You hit the lottery on that one. 1138 is a great cabin. The week you going is a tough one, we did that week 3 years ago before they upgraded the Summit. A lot of families a lot of kids, according to the crew it was very full. You will enjoy the balcony very much.
