We’re going on the Vista in December but in June we are going on the Beyond. It looks like a beautiful ship although I’m a bit worried there won’t be much for my kids to do (we’re going for my dad’s 80th birthday). I’m looking forward to trying a new line and evaluating the differences between the two lines.

I have met some people on Celebrity cruises who whisper the same thing.
Did you say anything in response?- 1

Ok so I’ve been on nine Carnival with our tenth booked for December. We are also going on Celebrity next June. I’ve joined a couple of Celebrity message groups to learn more about the ships, etc. but the elitism by Celebrity cruisers is unreal. It’s like they can’t wait to find a reason to be able to say Carnival sucks or they would never set foot on a Carnival ship based on a few TikTok videos they’ve seen. Has anyone else noticed this about Celebrity or other cruise lines? IMO Celebrity is barely a step above any mass market line. They have better service and frou frou restaurants, sure, but IMO that doesn’t mean Carnival is trash. Makes me wonder if the people I meet on board will be just as snobbish or if these are just keyboard warriors.

We just got back from our cruise and stayed at the Best Western. It was very easy ... they gave us the port parking coupon when we checked out and presented it at the port. No problems, and it was so nice to walk right out to the car, load up and be on our way. The Best Western was nice too. Hotel is a bit aged but it's beachfront, clean, right across from the Publix and included breakfast.

Or you could stay at one of the hotels that has the port parking coupon for 40 percent off ... It's a win - win. You can park at the port for much cheaper rates and not have to deal with a shuttle.

Sounds like Port Canaveral.

We love balcony cabins ... I'm one of those people that *has* to have one now. We've had an aft cabin once and, while it was nice, I do prefer cabins on the side. The heat wasn't as much an issue for us but there wasn't as much breeze and I love the breeze coming from the sea. There was some soot on our balcony from the whaletail but it didn't bother us too much. Also, I prefer being able to see where we're going instead of where we've been which is kind of a bummer when pulling into port although I guess it was nice when leaving and the wake is awesome. Don't get me wrong; I still loved the balcony and had a great time, but just prefer the side.

I can only think of those Ron Jon type surf shops and cheap beach stores near the ocean. Probably not what you're looking for but there it is.

I'll be on the Magic in a couple of weeks. [emoji4] We're driving in though and staying at the Best Western oceanfront. It's affordable, clean, and breakfast is included. They have a shuttle available. Most of the hotels do. If you want to be as close to the port as possible and don't care about being beachfront there's the Radisson and Homewood Suites which is brand new.

Captain Ed ... did you stay in the tower rooms or one of the other buildings?
-
We're staying there next month ... the reviews on Trip Advisor are good and it's nice to be able to get that 40 percent off port parking coupon without having to book a special rate. We opted for a room in the oceanfront tower after reading the reviews. It's also nice the hotel is in a convenient location near the pier and a grocery store.

We're staying at the Best Western before our June cruise. They offer the 40 percent port discount and you don't have to book a special rate to get it (such is the case with a few hotels). Plus breakfast is included and the hotel is on the beach so it's a win-win. Not the fanciest accommodations but clean and comfortable.

Any way for them to fly to Orlando on their wedding night after the reception? It would be less stress for them the morning of the cruise.
-
What time is their flight and from where? The situation makes me nervous for them.

Looking at trying the Priceline express deals for our cruise in June out of Port Canaveral. I'm specifically wondering about the bed choice option ... The hotel that I believe is the La Quinta oceanfront offers an oceanfront room with 2 queens for $70. Has anyone done this and had the hotel honor or not honor the bed choice?
-
The Best Western beachfront also gives out those 40 percent off port parking coupons, FYI.

We're sailing from Port Canaveral in June and I've narrowed it down to either the new Homewood Suites or the Best Western oceanfront. I've never stayed in a Homewood Suites before so I don't know what to expect, plus I'm not sure where it'll be in terms of location. Whereas, the Best Western is older but is beachfront, close to the pier and has the 40 percent off port parking coupon. Opinions?

That really stinks for the other cab companies.

We're leaving on the Fantasy next month and as of now we're staying at the Residence Inn the night before the cruise. There will be five of us, one of which is a child in a wheelchair. We don't particularly want to deal with the crowded shuttles so I'm considering calling a taxi service to see if they have a cab that can transport the five of us including the wheelchair. Can anyone recommend a taxi service? Also, does anyone know how much a cab to the port for the family would be? I want to make sure it's a reputable company that will be at the hotel on time.
TIA.

Another Carnival passenger jumps overboard

Well it goes without saying that suicidal thoughts crosses all income levels … that said something is fueling this. But … it could have been a simple as him being very drunk, starts arguing with GF and jumps off while thinking “I’ll show her.” Youthful stupidity perhaps combined with alcohol? The Elation cruises are “booze cruises” so I wouldn’t be surprised to find out if alcohol is involved.
