1. I finally figured out what I was thinking about... on a five day cruise, say Monday morning to Saturday morning, your FULL days are Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri and I would tell people that when they asked me about cruises that they weren’t really 5 whole days but 5 nights and I guess that just stuck in my head.. 🤷‍♂️

It had to be a long time ago or it had to have changed and then changed back, as I had a 3 day (night) cruise for my honeymoon in 97, which was 4 days/3 nights and counted as 3 points.

Who knows... But thanks for the reply.

  3. Until yesterday I had not booked a cruise in about a year. I noticed when I booked a five day that it was actually six. Used to be, for example, a 5 day cruise was Monday - Friday and now it's Monday - Saturday. I used to sort of complain about the day count being misleading but now it seems to be correct. When did this change? Thx

  4. I had the opportunity to hear a little about how the port charges work in Grand Turk from a tour guide. He said in GT Carnival pays $20k to dock plus a per head fee that includes the crew and indicated that it was a "lower" fee than others because of Carnival's ownership of the port area.

I'm not stating that as fact because how could I know for sure? But it sounds reasonable to me

  5. My wife and I will be taking my Grandmother, 83, and my Mother in Law, 76, on a cruise out of Charleston. Having never cruised from there I've been reading up on the port, the ship, etc. and it seems parking is a ways away and requires a shuttle. My MIL and Grandmother don't get around as good as they used to and I'd venture a guess my Grandmother would struggle boarding a shuttle. Does any one know if I can drop them off at the entrance instead?

    Thanks

  6. Hi - Did you have to buy the $25 internet package or could you use iMessage with the $5 package?

It's $5 per day or $25 per cruise for the social package. iMessage will work with that package whichever way you choose to purchase it

  7. I'm familiar with the ap - but how did you make it work? Bought internet package for all family members? I'm confused - but if I can figure it out I think this would be a great way to communicate with kids on ship.

    Thanks!

Each phone/device you want to communicate with on the ship will have to pay for the internet package. Just a side note, if you use iPhone's you don't need Whatsapp because they use iMessage but still have to buy the internet package. Three of us have iPhone's but my son has a Droid so he and I used Whatsapp and the rest of us used iMessage.

  8. Amazing the effort it takes to save a little money but luckily I work night shifts and can check it often and catch that hint that they are about to be available. When I saw "Add to Cart" I was checking every 1/2 hr until it let me check out! Finally got me a handful of them.

Now I'm off to Kroger with two different shopper numbers to get a few from them too. When its all said and done I'll have saved about $150 so I'd say it was worth the effort.

  9. My remark about it being a simple question was more directed to those that were just being dicks about it not those who offered legitimate, helpful responses.

As for what answer I wanted, again, those that opted to be helpful answered my question completely so the answer I wanted was provided.
  10.
Your question is simple and the responses have been as straight forward as possible. The policy does not allow for you all to check in together. I'm sure you must have had an idea of such, which is why you asked to begin with.

If the port employees decide to stick by that rule, as you are booked now, no you will not and should not be allowed to board together.

In order to quail any guess work, you can either board with the general boarding OR buy a FTTF pass so that you can all go together in the priority line. That's it. All of that has been stated numerous times.
You say that as if I asked numerous times...
  11. Ok... The wife and I both got a great rate offer. Had we booked us in one cabin and the kids in another we couldn't have utilized that so I got one with one child and she got one with the other thus allowing all four of us to go at the same great rate. Wife is platinum so last cruise with just us two we went the priority route so now I'm just wondering if us, as a family, might do the same thing. It was a pretty simple question I thought.
