  1. NCL Website states they can only be smoked in smoking areas.

What about smoking on the ship?

We want you to be comfortable on board, so public areas throughout all our ships are smoke-free. If you smoke regular or electronic cigarettes, you can do so on your balcony, in the casino or in the Cigar Bar (where available). If you prefer pipes or cigars, you can smoke in the Cigar Bar or designated smoking lounge. Also, you can smoke cigarettes, pipes and cigars outside on open decks (just not around food venues, sports decks, kids’ pool areas and other designated nonsmoking areas). Smoking inside your stateroom will result in a $250 cleaning charge added to your onboard account.

If you’re 18 through 20 years of age and you have the written consent of your parents or guardian (parent or guardian must be on board), you can purchase beer or wine for yourself only when the ship is sailing in international waters (except on Alaska and Hawai‘i cruises where you must be 21 years of age to consume or purchase alcohol of any kind).* If you want to gamble in our casinos, you must have a valid ID showing you are 18 years or older. If a Guest under the age of 18 wins in the casino and cannot provide proof of age, he or she will not be paid the winnings. There is no casino on Pride of America.

Electronic cigarettes cannot be used in public areas where there is a No Smoking policy in force; simply because these cigarettes look so realistic and therefore other guests’ perception is that we are not enforcing the No Smoking rule.

    ^^ This.

Also I remember reading somewhere that they are enforcing the same rules for e-cigs that they do for regular cigs around NYC. So parks, public areas... all the norms for regular cigs, are now enforced for e-cigs. Just assume the same rules apply in general.

As for the rest of the crowd on their "opinions", that's all they are.

  2. There are 7 of us cruising and we drink lots of water, I am bringing on a rolling cooler with water, cokes and sprite. We have done it the last couple of cruises with no problem, we keep the cooler on the balcony (and it serves as an extra seat too!! We just slap a luggage tag on it and viola, it gets delivered with our luggage!! :)

I didn't even THINK of bringing on a rolling cooler! That's a great idea. About how big was it? We have one that would work out, and it's not huge so that works as well.

  3. I don't think you'll have any complaints...

We booked on the Gem as well in a I1 category with a GTY room and got an auto upgrade to OG when we paid. 30 days out we got assigned an OA room right at the aft of the boat.

I'd say you're in good shape, especially when it only netted you $10 in the end....

  4. Seems in line with the norm lol.

This actually reminds me of the Hooters menu. They have the "Gourmet Chicken Wing Dinner". I think it's 20 wings and a bottle of Dom Perignon.

Can't go wrong, everything gets classy with a bottom of Dom in your hand
