  1. 2:15pm is when the first bus was made available. Our excursion was officially listed as 8:30 start, but by the time we waited for everyone and the drive it was more like 9:00 - 9:30. ... so I guess that's more than 4 hours before first bus.

RCCL only lists 1 excursion time, but there were other ships in port hence what I meant by "first excursion time" -- make sure you beat those other ships in :-)

Thats the problem with us going there next March...we (Allure) are one of 6 ships parked off Jamaica that day! Yikes! We arent even going to try this, only to be very disppointed and feel like we wasted our money :(

That beach is not very wide/long.

  2. We have a dinner party planned for tomorrow evening. Sole purpose of the get together? To get to know the parents of my dear daughter's friend who we are bringing on the Allure next March. She is 15 and has never cruised; for goodness sakes she won the jackpot and is coming with us!!!

I wanted to tell you that your entire picture review will be the highlight of our night as we get excited for the Allure again and show her off. Thanks for giving us the tools to do so! Your pics all look fantastic on our new huge Apple laptop :)

LOVE THIS THREAD and dont want it to end.

Thanks again for this wonderful entertainment.:D

  3. So i have now noticed that this fabulous thread has five gold stars attached to it on the main page. How did you earn this and who puts them there?

None the less, I think they are WELL DESERVED!:D

BTW, we sailed Oasis when the Falmouth port opened for the very first time...to us, the biggest ship. The port certainly wasnt completed (as it still isnt!)....and Jamaica made it like a national holiday! All children in the area were let out of school for the day to come see us. There was a chain linked fence separating "us vs. them" and not only was it sad but it was downright scary when our tour bus went outside the gates. If i come across some of my pictures i will post. You would find them interesting.

We sail back to Falmouth this March on the Allure and although it looks much more complete, I 100% agree with you that many people have no interest in traveling an hour each way (or more!...Negril is 2 hrs away!) to any of the main attractions of the island. We also have the free spa vouchers (2 balc rooms booked) so we are looking forward to utilizing them. Bummer this is where RCCL had to build the port to accomodate these large ladies.

  4. lol, I am not sure that many people agree with you on the take as long as you like part. But I won't rush through it, I want to deliver good material all the way till the end. Thanks for your nice comment :D

Dont rush!.....take as long as you wish and dont stress over us all chompin at the bit to want more and more :)

...we want you to keep your job, your relations, your family, pets, and bank account......

    ....we will be patient.

  5. I just yanked my husband over to the computer to show him some of your pics and stated this is BY FAR the best and most entertaining review of the O or the A!....and I have read A LOT of them!

We board the Allure again in March and your review is a fab way to get us excited again!

    Thanks!

Oh, and I am cracking up that you got the great pic of AirForce One and then moments later you snapped the shot of the multi million dollar beach front property with the Romney sign in the yard :)

    Gotta love America!!! Ironic, eh???

  6. BTW...great pics and keep them coming! At this rate i am so excited that your thread will probably last an entire week!!!..just like your journey :)

I have got to comment on your pics from that vantage point (the south rocks to the inlet where the ships go out to sea).

We stayed at the Lago Mar a few Marchs ago on our way to sail the Allure. Having already sailed Oasis just 2 months prior we were so excited to go walk out to the rocks and see her sail away on saturday.....just me and the teenage kids. Well i can tell you i almost lost my kids to the sea (drowned) , as the Oasis sailed by and a HUGE wave off the ship came and about knocked all 3 of them off and the waves were so violent afterwards there would have been a small chance they would have swam to shore ....but slight.....super scary! Not to mention all the other folks around us were caught off guard and also scrambling for the beach....but RATS ( very large rats the size of small house cats) live in those rocks and when the wave hit it disrupted their Joo Joo and they were scampering around and sqweeling like a horror movie!!!!....it was a sight and an experience i, nor my kiddos, will never forget!.....

None the less....we are set to sail the Allure once again this March and we are once again staying at the Lago Mar resort just to have close proximity to this blessed sail away event of the Oasis a day before we board the Allure.....but this time we will NOT be climbing out on those rocks!!!!!!.......

    .....lesson learned :)

  7. I know you have many complements going here.....and i just have to add in that this is BY FAR the best and most real review i have read thus far!

I too went on the ALLURE with 3 other kids and myself....2 were mine and one a friend of DD's.......different perspective not necessarily having other "adult" conversation for 7 days!.....in fact, the freaking elevators were filled with non English speaking travelers and i felt all alone at times :(

You are so fun to follow and i thank u for taking the time and detail!

    Cheers!
