in Cabin Selection Tips

We're booked in Rooms 8211 and 8217 on Carnival Splendor. Any thoughts on these rooms? It looks like just rooms above and below. It's also close enough to elevators but not too close.
Just curious about being in a forward cabin versus mid-ship. What are the benefits of the two?
It looks like balconies are tiny. Is there enough room for 2 people to comfortably sit out there and enjoy the ocean?
