Looks like a lot of shuttle services don’t operate after mid-afternoon or prices jump way up. Normally I pay about $15 per person from FLL to a downtown Miami hotel, but I’m only finding prices around $80 after 5pm. Any suggestions? TIA

It is not close to the tourist sights. I would choose somewhere more central.
I booked this using points. It looked like it’s close to a metro stop and the Hop on - Hop off bus stops very close also. Could you confirm this please? Also, being at the mall I read there are restaurants and bakery’s making it convenient.
Any other reviews of this hotel?? Thanks

Another vote for SAS. $15 per person each way. Can pay cash upon drop off or use credit card.

Following: we are booked for May 22, 2018. Looking forward to seeing what they upgrade :)

We booked the port side for our upcoming Alaskan cruise...we figured with the times we are sailing we would see more sunsets on that side. Not sure if that's going to be true or not but we'll see.

Could you give a little information about the dress code on the ship? I've only done Caribbean cruises and wondering if Alaska is a little more casual. Loving the review...thanks for all the pictures!

I am curious about the dress code for the dining room on both casual and formal nights, and also just the overall temperature on the ship. I have only been on Caribbean cruises and the ship is usually pretty chilly in all the public spaces and people can be totally decked out but I think the majority are a little more casual than formal. I have heard Alaskan cruises are overall more casual than others. Can someone please help me out...THANKS

We are doing the canoe glacier walk in Juneau through Alaska Shore Excursions. It's called Juneau Mendenhall Glacier Ice Adventure Tour. Hope that helps!

Did anyone use the Facebook Messenger app to keep in touch with people back home? How did it work?? I want to make sure I can continue to nag my son to do his homework ;)
Thanks

Looking at doing the Jaital River Tubing and Bamboo Blu Beach excursion at Ocho Rios. Has anyone done this lately? Thanks!

I used Captain Marvin's twice and would use them again if we went back!

Thank you for the suggestion. Sounds just like what we are looking for!

Very helpful post...thank you! We are planning to go there in September. If we decide to spend the rest of the day at the public beach, do we just take another bus and tell the driver to stop there?
-
Thanks for the suggestions!!

Looking for recommendations for a tour or transport company that will take two of us to a local place for jerk chicken and then to a beach to spend the day.
Suggestions on company, lunch stop and/or beach??
Thanks for your help!

I decided to go for it and booked this excursion. I'll come back and write a review after my July Breeze cruise. I hope it's good :)
Can't wait to hear about your experience! Did you book through the ship or on your own?

Thank you for your great reply! I have a couple questions..
Do you have to do AI or can you pay as you go?
Did you have any alcohol drinks? If so, was there a full bar?
Did you book the taxi ahead of time or just grab one when you got off the ship?
You said the taxi ride was 5-10 mins, was this from Falmouth or did you dock somewhere else?
Thanks again for your review...I wasn't sure about this port, but now I feel like I have something to look forward to!
:)

erinpdx - thank you so much for posting the price you were quoted. Would you mind letting us know how you liked it when you get back? Enjoy your trip!! :)

Several people have mentioned that there is decent snorkeling at Doctors Cave beach. We are going there next week. We arranged a shuttle from the Falmouth Port to the beach through Jaital tours. I did a little research and it looks like the taxis there are expensive.
If you don't mind sharing, what price were you quoted? Thanks!!
Realistic debarkation time NOLA
in Gulf Coast Departures

In other homeports I know I can easily get off the ship (carrying my own luggage) as early as 7:30am. NOLA shows ship arrival time as 8:00am. Just wanting to know if it’s possible to make a 10:45am flight? We probably aren’t going to chance it, but just wanting to get opinions. Thanks!
