The tour operator meets you right at the port, then the group walks to the place you get the equipment and watch a video. The ride ends near the beach and they gave us a voucher for a taxi back to the port.

I had booked with Captain Marvin for last week. Unfortunately the Carnival Paradise changed itinerary and went to Costa Maya instead of Grand Cayman. I've since heard that that happens fairly often. I was able to contact Captain Marvin from the ship to cancel.

I think there are regulations that prevent outside excursions from picking up at the pier.

No. If you're on Carnival, the pier is about 4 miles from the meeting point. It's an $8 taxi.

My teenage daughter and I did this through Carnival this week after the ship was diverted to Costa Maya instead of Grand Cayman. It was our third time on Segways.
I would recommend this tour. Riding a Segway is easy and fun. The tour went through town and up and down the pedestrian walkway at the beach. There was a 30 minute stop at a beach area.
My only (minor) complaints are that getting set up and started took a long time, and we didn't have time at the end for the beach. Also, although the price was comparable to what we've payed for Segway tours in the US, we were actually riding for much less time on this tour.

I highly recommend the VW buggy tour with Omar in Cozumel. My daughter and I did this tour the other day. Omar and his coworker LA are great and made for a fun day.
The cars are old but fun to drive. If you can't drive manual you can request an automatic in advance.
We made 4 stops: a snorkel beach at a restaurant, a tequila tour and tasting, lunch at a beach bar, and another beautiful beach. The cost also included unlimited cold water, soda, and beer, and Omar's taco lunch with his homemade pico and guacamole.
We both had a great day.

I booked Captain Marvin for August based on so many good reviews. I'll post about it after our trip.

All the reviews of the Amazing Race are great and we're looking forward to it. I'll go back and read your post!

We're doing the Amazing Cozumel Race next month. I skipped past that part of your review because I don't want spoilers. Am I safe to read it? Are you giving anything away in your review?

In Victoria we took a walking ghost tour with an outside company. The shop ran a shuttle back and forth from the port to town.
Forgot to say, my daughter was 12 at the time.

I was on the Pearl 4 years ago. In Skagway I booked the railway and tour through an outside company. I don't remember the name but could look it up. We enjoyed it. The guide even made a special stop on the way back so my daughter who's lived in Fl her whole life could touch snow for the first time.
In Ketchikan our plan was to take the public bus to the totem park. When the bus came it was full and the driver wouldn't let any more passengers on. Next bus was in an hour I think, which wouldn't leave enough time. We ended up walking around town and going to a restaurant up the hill for breakfast. My daughter still says that was her favorite day. We booked the lumberjack show through the ship. It was fun.

I don’t remember the name of the beach. The tour operator gave us taxi vouchers for the ride back to the port.
