Im on the Escape TA April 18. Last two ports are Florence and Rome. We already have 2 Portugal ports 4 Spanish ones and one French. Where else can they divert us?

praying by End March this will be under control.

We are on the Escape May 3rd out of Rome, I am assuming that is where you disembark.  I guess we will know before you start your TA if the Rome port will be changed.

  2. I also had the same questions. It sounds like you are bused back to Colon to pick up the ship. I am debating between that tour and the Panama Canal and Locks Transit by Boat. Anyone know anything about which is better!!

Our family, ages 50, 47, 23 & 21, enjoyed the Panama Canal and Locks Transit by Boat in Dec 2012. I would highly suggest it. You will board a bus that will take you to get on a smaller boat and make your way through all the locks to the Pacific where you will then board a bus for a ride/tour back through Panama City to Port Colon. You will receive lunch, photo ops and a certificate that you made the complete transit of the Panama Canal. You actually get an up close view as you transit each lock.

We are doing a return cruise Jan 2015 and trying to decide on an excursion ourselves.

  3. We did the partial transit Dec '12 and did the "full transit boat tour", we are making a return partial transit again this Jan '15. We were thinking about doing the RR but afraid we would we be disappointed if the views are not available? What other excursions would you recommend in Panama City??

  4. Love reading your review it has helped alot!

We have been on multiple Caribbean cruises but this is our first Alaska cruise (May 29) and we are taking my parents for their 50th Anniversary. They are bombarding me with questions and I don't really have the answers so anyone please help!

    • What do most people wear to dinner on non-formal nights? Particularly the women. Men, I assume khaki or jeans with button-up shirt?
    • We have a day at sea and a day through Tracy Arm...just casual lounging around the ship clothes?
    • Does anyone know what night is formal nights? We are taking short cocktail dresses and/or long black flowy pants. Men suits, do most guys wear jacket on formal night or any with just shirt & tie?

    Thanks in advance!
