We are sailing from Galveston at the end of May. Looking to fly into Houston on either Friday or Saturday for a Sunday departure and flying back either on the following Sunday or early Monday.
We are wanting to visit the Johnson Space Center while there either the day before (Sat) we cruise or the afternoon (Sun) after the cruise. Can anyone suggest hotels in the Houston area to stay on the day we visit the space center? Also where to stay pre/post cruise? Transportation to/from Houston?
Hate to ask all this but don't have time to research like I need to.
THANKS in advance!!!

If you are seated in My Time Dining when using the main dining room, should your Head Waiter be named Dennis please tell him Momma Crystal and Tim says Hello!!!
Dennis is by far the best head waiter we have ever had.

We are corner aft lovers, particularly deck 7, of the Voyager or Freedom Class ships. Is there anything remotely close to this on Oasis class ships?
Thanks in advance.

We have sailed all RCI cruises except for one, the Breeze. We are very loyal to Royal.
That being said, for $800 and everything the same, We would sail the Breeze. Both do some things better than the other.
You will not go wrong with either, you will be on a cruise. Save that $800 for fun with the kids!!!

Again, I feel exactly as all of you do too. I would be glad the sailing was not cancelled, better late than never, beautiful sail away at night with all the lights fading in the distance, yes, it is all good, BUT I know how excited I am to sail and my sail away traditions and prefer daytime sail aways. I would have a small bit of disappointment but as someone else stated, it would not last long.

I would have all of the same feelings as all of you too BUT there would be that small bit of disappointment. If I'm on a ship, I would definitely be happy!

Was just watching ships leave Port Canaveral late due to Hurricane Matthew having port closed the last few days and was wondering about everyone else's feelings.
If I had made plans for a cruise for months as is the norm, sometimes years, I would be disappointed to not get to "celebrate" sail away during the daytime as originally scheduled. I know it is NOBODY'S fault, it just would be a bit disappointing.
We have sailed late when leaving from San Juan and really wasn't fond of that either but the time was expected.
What is your feelings?

We were at Labadee not too long after the earthquakes and it felt really strange to us, almost apologetic. After getting off the ship we were sitting in our cabana and both of looked at each other almost at the same time and said "This just doesn't feel fair to the Haitians. Here we are, living it up with sun, sand, cruise, food, and drink and just on the other side of the mountains they are suffering." We did have a good time don't get me wrong but it was kind of sad as well.

Please be aware that there are some jellyfish in the water! Some guests got burms from it

This is not an unusual occurrence at Labadee, specifically after a large tropical storm/hurricane.

Have a friend trying to figure out how to get cash from his OBC without going to the casino and giving back 5%. He has gone to guest services and gotten cash there but it has always been a fight and he doesn't want that this time.
Thanks in advance.

I bought one last fall on the Indy. I didn't see them on the Radiance in April but it could be because it was a Hawaii cruise. I can't see why you couldn't bring the one you have and buy a beer special and have them fill it for you.
That is what I am going to do IF they still offer the discount to purchase 5 or 6 at a time.

We cruised last May and purchased the little cooler/bag with 5 bottles of our favorite beer and received a bit of a discount.
1) Do they still offer this?
2) Can you bring your bag from last year and save the purchase price?
THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

I'm willing to do slacks and a dress shirt on normal MDR nights but was curious if dress shorts with a button down or polo would be acceptable too?
Probably gonna get beat up here but I am tired of packing for formal night. Been there, done that, not gonna do it any more.
I wear a polo type shirt with either khakis or dress slacks to dinner. I don't wear shorts.

THANKS everyone. I knew it used to be that way but was not sure if rules had been changed.

I am sure this has been answered MANY times however I'm going to ask again.
If I use Visa points for on board credit and do not use all the credit, is the balance refundable at the end of the cruise?
Thanks

I have some friends leaving in two weeks on Oasis. We were talking today and the question of beer prices came up.
Can anyone that has recently been on Oasis help us out?
Thanks in advance!!!

Here is a mid 50's view if needed. We have been on both ships. We don't use the flow rider, rock wall, or in line skating. That being said, there are no significant differences between the two.
You will have some that say one's crew is nicer that the other, one's food was better than the other. The fact of this matter is it will be kind of press your luck. You might have an outstanding crew on one or the other or the food might be better on one than the other. You will never know as you cannot be on both at the same time.
Look at which is easier for you to get to or which itinerary you like. Make your decision and don't rethink it, it will drive you nuts.

Hopefully not. My question was legitimate: a dress kilt doesn't technically fulfill the formal requirements for Royal, but is considered acceptable. Shouldn't that then be true of all dress outfits from other countries? I'm sure a bisht and thawb, changshan or dhoti that also don't qualify would be welcome as well, so why not Bermuda shorts?
Legitimate question or not, the fact is Bermuda shorts are not considered "dress attire" anywhere, a kilt is in the op's country.
Give it a rest.

If kilts are allowed, how about Bermuda shorts? If not, why is dress wear from one country OK but not another?
Oh, I did not realize Bermuda shorts are considered formal attire in Bermuda or anywhere else for that matter.
Well here goes a good thread to the toilet. Gonna turn this one into another "it's my vacation and I can wear what I want" thread. :(

We were on Indy OTS in May '15 and had friends of ours that stayed in this hotel, we stayed elsewhere, and they had no problems with the hotel.

Being from southern Illinois in the USA, I see kilts daily, NOT. ;)
I love seeing gentlemen from other countries wearing kilts and other attire that we regularly do not see here in the US.
I vote KILT!!!
