  1. Balcony all the way. Even if you don't spend a lot of time in your cabin there are still those moments that can't be beat. I can wake up to beautiful scenery every morning without going up on deck. Mind you, I love the 360 view on deck but there is nothing like your own private deck where people wouldn't obstruct your view or make a lot of noise. It's also great going out just before you get ready for dinner especially if it's moonlight out. And I can do all of this from the privacy of my own balcony.

  2. I applied on July 7, 2014 and received my passport on July 29, 2014, a little less than three weeks. I am wondering if it took less time for me as I had a previous pasport years ago, but it was expired for over 10 years so I had to apply as if I were getting a new one as the old one had been issued in the mid '90s.

I hope you get it soon. My status went from being processed, to final processing for about 2 days and then it said it was being mailed and I got it the day it said it was being mailed.

I would keep checking the state website everyday and once it goes to final processing you should have it in about 4-5 days.

Once you get within 2 weeks of sailing I think they allow you to call the State Dept as well. There are also places that will help expedite it once it is within the 2 week period but I know that means more money you ahve to shell out.

Did you expedite the process because mine took long to come.

  3. Hi

I applied for my passport on June 18th and when I checked on the status two weeks ago they told me that I should be getting it August 11th but I got it a couple days earlier. I was freaking out a little too but you can check your status online. I didn't expedite mine either but as you can see mine took about 7 weeks to come and not a minute too soon because my cruise is about 3 weeks away

  4. My first cruise was in 1997 on the Carnival Inspiration and I was in my early twenties, (now thirty something). It was a great experience walking on that ship for the first time, then exploring it. It was nine of us and it took us 10 years before our next cruise. But we knew then to plan them no more than two years apart.

  5. There are many ports that I just love but my top picks are:

Aruba - Beautiful scenery, nice beaches and friendly people.

Key West - A quaint town with character and charm.

St. Lucia - Absolutely gorgeous scenery

Dominica - Gotta love natural beauty and those wonderful waterfalls.

Honduras- Such a homey feeling there, also very cultural.

Curacao - Loved the culture and the colorful buildings, just had a great feeling being there.

Cozumel Mexico- I love this place. Learned a lot of history here and the port/shopping area was great
