How wonderful! I’ll be on that cruise as well celebrating (a little early 😉) our 30th!

Happy Anniversary to you. Hope we get to meet you on board.
We’ll be in Praia di Vitoria Terceira, Azores for our special day.
    see you soon🛳

  2. My husband and I celebrated our 20th anniversary on Nieu Amsterdam in 1994.
We had a fun cruise and won many prizes.
We’ve cruised many times with different cruise lines since then.
In May we’ll be celebrating our 50th anniversary on Zuiderdam.

Looking forward to a fun transatlantic passage as a seasoned cruiser.

  3. We bring a laundry bag that we keep all of our dirty clothes in. I also bring lysol wipes, lysol spray, and fabreze spray....and wipe down and disinfect every surface, drawer, wall, and freshen the entire room as soon as we have access to the room.

    I do the same thing.

Repeat every 2 days and luckily haven't been ill

  4. magnets are great, after seeing a cruise buddy using them I now take some to at least hang the days Compass on the wall which is very handy.

Usually the Compass I want is hidden somewhere under a mound of stuff.

I make a spreadsheet at home and "put them on my wall" in the cabin with magnets. A separate page for each European port. An empty calendar filled in with port name and times in port. I enjoy research before I leave.

A clothes peg is handy to clip the balcony curtains back.

Lysol spray to use on all surfaces and door knobs before we start the cruise and throughout the trip.

  5. I have been looking at booking a cruise for my 40th birthday, which is May of 2016. Our first cruise together was last year when we went on the Enchantment of the Seas 4 day. We are set to sail NCL Getaway next month.

I have been looking at the 3 major lines and decided on the Independence 5 day on April 18, 2016! I went ahead and booked since the B&J was still open and the price was right.

I am really looking forward to sailing a ship like the Independence. From what I can tell this class of ship has so much to offer... the pools seem great, the ice rink, the promenade all look to be great.

For those that has sailed the Independence or the other freedom class ships what did you like about them? Also has anyone stayed in the B&J sweet?

My husband and I sailed in the Ben and Jerry suite. Can't remember if we were on Liberty or Freedom ( been on both ships). Fun room and it had a good view even with the cow blocking the window. We had some noise at night from the door to the stairway for the crew.

There is a video out there with some good pictures. We enjoyed the free ice cream and only used the concierge room once and were very welcomed but we felt a little like we shouldn't be there since we weren't really in a suite.

Lots of cow motifs and a fun room. You'll enjoy it
