  1. THANK YOU so much, it is very kind of you to pass this information along.

The information that she posted is what they give you but here is what happened yesterday. We got up at 6am and showered and dressed and were ready to go with our carryons-the luggage was long gone without us. At 6:45 we walked out of our cabin and by 8 am we were in the rental car heading out of Cocoa Beach.

The luggage valet program is a godsend if you are in a hurry, but keep in mind there were just 2 of us and we had just a tiny bit of waiting around and no hitches. I would not book a flight before noon if you are renting a car. Maybe 11 if you have a limo and they totally understand you have a flight to catch.

I am not going to go into massive detail here, but just ask if you have a question about it.

  2. Thx, y'all!

Wolfganghowell, there were a lot of Texans on that cruise--we saw bunches of Longhorns, Ags and Owls!

Love, I hope some of the stuff helps you plan--your E Carib itinerary looks nice. In all these years, we've still never hit Royal's other private beach, Coco Cay! You will have to teach me how to transfer this kind of content to my Kindle. Can you do it in just a few steps or is it more complicated? I guess I could Google how to do it, duh. :o

If you have not figured it out already, yeah, google emailing to your kindle for a long version. short version-email anything AS AN ATTACHMENT to "yourname"@kindle.com. Then sync your kindle and it should appear. Or go to help if you need more help. It is super on a kindle fire. I just email everything to me.

  3. Look on deck 5, forward, starboard side of the corridor to the Pharaoh's Palace Lounge. The venue is called the Connoisseur Club.

Thanks, will be avoiding that area like the plague. Cigar smoke is unbearable to me, glad they have given you a place to go that is a great clublike atmosphere so that all passengers, including those inclined and uninclined to cigars, can be happy. Where else are smokers allowed to smoke? Keep in mind, I am not judging or complaining, I just want to plan accordingly. I grew up in a smoking household and since I moved out have always lived in a non smoking household but at least I understand and have watched the wild transition.

  4. I'm just planning on taking a trash bag and all of my older clothes for day wear and when I get back to Port Canaveral, it will all go in the trash-all except my favorite shorts and my bathing suit and any good clothes we brought for eating in MDR. My husband plans to work out every day and those clothes might go directly into the trash.

Of course it is just the 2 of us, we are planning on a very self centered vacation so it works for us, may not work for you.

Also I am planning on buying new tshirts at all ports and on the ship, so may not throw away the old suitcase, but we might!

  5. The venues that have an extra cover charge (IIRC) are Chops, Portofino, and Johnny Rockets.

What about the places where I saw ice cream, cupcakes, cookies, small sandwiches, etc?

Ben & Jerry's is extra, they charge you about what a land based Ben & Jerry's does. The cupcakes are around $3 each. Apparently the Seattle's Best or Starbucks or whatever charges you for the specialty coffees and teas but around the back of the coffee shop is another self serve coffee shop with complimentary coffee, tea, cocoa. The cookies and pastries are also complimentary and I imagine the sandwiches are too.

  6. I have a couple of questions regarding food since I finally just got my husband to discuss the dining and he nearly flipped when I talked about taking khakis and dress shoes for the bare minimum of formal dress. Therefore, it looks like Windjammer for evening meals for us. I was thinking that the WJ served the same thing as the main dining room, is that correct?

Also, in the Jade, they change cuisines-do they have a Vietnam night and do they serve pho? Also, is there bubble tea? Is there bubble tea in St Thomas maybe? I am used to vacationing in California and just like it every once in awhile. I can get it in Kansas City, but it is a vacation drink for me.

Umm, another food question and I'll quit-is there deep dish pizza at Sorrento's? They closed the closest Pizzaria Uno and I really miss that. Thanks so much for any help!

  7. Listed below are the current coupons that can be found in the C&A Ultimate Value Coupon Book for Gold, Platinum, Emerald, Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club Crown & Anchor Members. Current coupons have no expiration date, but instead have a Version # assigned.

So we got lucky and got gold status from our 4 day cruise in 2006 and this is our first time cruising with it. Do we both get one of these books? And can we give away the coupons that we won't be using or do the users have to show a seapass that matches the coupons?

  8. Wow, that was a long time ago. I was a young travel agent and AAA offered us a $25 a day cruise so I jumped on it and had a great time. It was a 7 day out of San Juan with similar ports to what you get today. Came back and sold a ton of cruises because I was so enthused. I went on another in May of 82 on La Boheme with a friend. She was so happy about it, she still mentions it everytime I see her or she sees a member of my family.

I could never have imagined what the ships would be like, although the popularity of cruising does not surprise me.
