Good connect time at EWR.  Should have no problem there.

The big issue is getting out of YQB before noon.  I've never ended a cruise in YQB (always at YUL), so I can't speak to the logistics there.  However, you might want to consider the AA flight at 12:55 to PHL, and then onward to BNA.  Plenty of time at origin and connection.

I'm one who prefers having the cushion to guard against "stuff" happening.  So take that into consideration.

Thank.  Appreciate your informed ideas. I looked this morning, and The HAL website shows they are booking 10:50 a.m. flights so 11:35 should work?

I'm assuming that the OP is wanting to fly United - to Newark and then onward to Nashville.

But since we once again have no dates, no times, no cities.....

    You are correct.

And, by the way, have sailed on 12 HAL cruises, arriving at ports as early as 4:30. They very rarely start letting people off before 7am.

I'm looking at an 11:35 flight.

I tend to get HAL and Celebrity mixed up, but I think both lines try to schedule letting people off based on flight times.

HAL website showing plenty of availability for all cabins except Signature Suite (not many of them on NS).  I immediately see 10 Verandahs available on deck 6, and 10 on deck 5.

What category are you looking for?

The lady I'm helping in Michigan sees it as you do. My neighbor in Tennessee only gets obstructed cabins.  We  both use chrome.

He would never have said that if he would have had to deal with millennials 🙂

The biggest problem with millennials is they remind older people of who they once were.😁

Of the 'luxury' lines we've only ever sailed Regent so feel free to discount my post as I haven't actually experienced any of the other lines.

But...we did go through the research and comparison process about 12 years ago when we started cruising and through a variety of factors we landed on Regent.  Our second choices were Seabourn and Crystal (very close) with Silversea in last place.  These decisions were based on a combination of amenities, suite size, itineraries, inclusions, and a few other intangibles that we looked at.  We ended up on Regent and have been loyal customers since 2009.  I'm sure if we'd have chosen another line, though, we'd have been quite happy with any of them.  But for us the more relaxed attitude really fits our idea of the perfect vacation getaway.

I've said for years that there's no one perfect cruise line...but there's likely a perfect cruise line for you.  As others have said, I'm just thankful to have the choice.

That is why we chose Regent for our first sail on a luxury line next year. We also considered Silversea.  I'm sure Silversea would be enjoyable though.

I don't  know this, but I suspect there are people(relatives) that dressed for dinner in the past, and it's  just a way of life for them. They enjoy it.  We enjoy a more laid back atmosphere.

Impossible to say. The devil is in the details. I have a thread about following my claim. I recently stayed at an all inclusive at RIU and they included  what sounded like a medical insurance policy. My wife fell and required an ER visit. Because in the heat of the moment and the anxiousness of the situation, I failed to call the insurance company and get permission to go to the hospital. My $3600 claim was denied.

Wow! If she needed to go she had to go. That is some really bad insurance.

The policy looks ok, and I will also have Medjet.

All the suites D to H grade are the same layout and large size, so it all comes down to whether you prefer the location of the Concierge suites(D & E) or want/need the additional concierge amenities (pre-cruise hotel; priority booking for excursions & dining; 10% discount for premium wines; 15 mins phone time; extra device log-ins).

If you prefer the D or E suites but want to do your own thing in Rome pre-cruise you can take a credit for the Regent hotel.

You will not need the priority booking for excursions as for a cruise next March the booking window is already open to all (300 days in advance of the cruise)

Since you are new to Regent don't forget to avail yourself of the Ambassador Programme perk, by getting a past Regent guest to refer you.

Have a great time planning your cruise 😎

I agree. Regent always takes care of porterage for luggage.

However, on a past Regent cruise out of Civitavecchia, our bus broke down twice; the driver did not speak English and Regent's supplied emergency number was unmanned.

With help from the guests, much sign language & Italian arm waving the bus was finally restarted and limped to the port.

    Not a "luxury" experience 🤨

Any idea how much the hotel credit is if you book concierge, but don't stay in their hotel?

Which hotels does Regent try to use in Rome?

  9. Things change. Any answer you get today might be incorrect tomorrow.  No one knows what things will be like in 3 months  or 6 months.

We want to book for March, 22. I am not going to book a Med cruise that cannot be cancelled without taking a significant loss. It would be disappointing to be stuck on a cruise ship if cruise ship passengers are not welcome at the ports scheduled to be visited.

  10. I hope this works out.  Voyager on March 26 which visits a few ports we have not been to. It begins in Rome, which we love, so we can explore before the cruise.

I'd appreciate opinions of the deluxe veranda suite which I believe is 320' with a 50 ' balcony.  Also the added benefit of a concierge suite.

I have just started to to research RSSC so I'm sure I'll have a few other questions in a few days.

I don't know what age bracket you are in but many years ago there was Royal Crown and that was VERY southern......Royal Crown Cola and Moon Pies.......those were southern "snacks" LOL.

    69. I remember Royal Crown and Moon Pies. Lived in Chattanooga for about 30 years, and Moon Pies started there, 1902.

I was talking to a friend a few  minutes ago, and we agreed that 100 years no longer seems like a long time.

  12. This is an interesting discussion, and a  timely one for me. We are considering either Regent or Silversea for our next cruise. We are experience cruisers and travelers, but haven't sailed on either line.  I find  appealing cruises an both lines when I search.

So it boils down to itinerary (most important), ship(500-900 passengers preferred), excellent food and service, and nice public areas.

When I read this thread it seems much like any similar one on the Holland America or Celebrity board.

The same gripes and comparisons, although not nearly as much about cost cutting.

I suspect either Silversea or Regent will be enjoyable.

  13. We booked last fall through a cruise compete website and a travel agent. We paid the deposit of $1500. The reservation includes a suite and air .

The NCL website shows a 100% refund if cancelled by 6-23-2020.

We cancelled the booking on 3-12-2020 through the travel agent, and we received a confirmation from the cruise compete website.

Should we get a refund?  Any idea when?
