Yes, it was the second week of July from Boston to Bermuda and back. My wife and I were more than happy with the MDR, Lido and Dive Inn, but our new friends really loved the Pinnacle Grill.

On the Veendam last week a bucket of Budweisers was 5 for the price of 4 - - just under 29 bucks. This was at the pool bar. I imagine it will be the same on the K. Have a great cruise!

You may want to consider the new "Ready, Set, Sail" promotion. With any luck your fare will be lower (ours was so I rebooked) and you will receive at least some of the perks you lost out on because of the travel agent's mistake. It includes prepaid gratuities and OBC.

However you resolve this situation I hope you have an excellent trip!

Thanks so much for answering my questions! Seeing all of the great options for shore excursions I believe we will stick with our somewhat smaller Lanai and spend the extra $$$ taking in sights and experiences in the many ports of call!

Now if we were to get an upgrade or upsell offer I would definitely consider making the switch!

I too want to thank you for doing this review! I am following with great interest because we are booked on the Veendam next July and the first week is the Canada/New England cruise.

We presently have a Lanai cabin booked but I have been considering changing it to a Spa stateroom, so your first post and the pictures have given me some food for thought! Can I ask you whether or not there is a 2nd chair on the balcony? Also, would you be able to give me an idea of just what type of Spa discounts or perks came with this room?

It's been over 4 years since our last cruise, but last month I booked a 14 day cruise next July to celebrate our 25th anniversary! So of course I returned to Cruise Critic and have been checking out these HAL message boards every now and then. Kind of surprised that the smoking issue hasn't been solved yet! Just kidding!

As I was walking this morning on the walking track of our city's field-house a question occurred to me that I know one of you good folks will have the answer to: How many laps around the promenade deck does it take to equal 1 mile? Thanks in advance! steve
