  1. We took the $2.00 bus years ago to Coki Beach & loved being with the locals (this was way more fun that the taxi according to my children!!).

This time we would like to try Sapphire Beach. To my recollection, I believe that Sapphire Beach is just a couple more bus stops past Coki, right? WILL the bus stop at Sapphire or do I need to get off earlier & just walk?

ALSO, do you give the driver $2.00 each time that you hop back on the bus? (thinking about maybe going to Coki for a while and then go to Sapphire....)

AND, I believe that we had walked past Wendy's to catch the bus going to Coki/Sapphire?

    THANKS for your help! Willowbranch

yes I have done this you will need to catch it on the corner across from Mac Donald's it true about timing so leave yourself a lot of time to work with. Last time I was in St Thomas had a local take us he just stopped and asked if we needed a jitney while we wait on the corner for the 2.00 bus and he took us... that may not work for everyone but it did for us and are large group so use your best judgment. The walk is not to bad from the drop off point I just recommend you do not go back when school is released because that bus will fill up fast and you will have to wait

  2. Less than $60 a day (less port fees etc.) and they feed you too? :)

That seems pretty low to me already. Not sure how low everyone is looking for it to go.

Just my 2 cents and not redeemable for that amount.

lol about 85.00 less pp on the date Iam looking at I sailed 27 times and imo waiting has always worked best for me :D:D

  3. Iam in Gulfport ms and our port here has just stared to make the port deeper for larger ships to come in. A few yrs back Carnival used Gulfport when New Orleans port was shut down it was the Conquest they brought here and I went out during that time on her easy living so close to the port. Iam hoping that once this is complete that Carnival will come here. A few yrs back they closed there Mobile port but every now and again they will divert a ship to Mobile and bus the folks back to the port of New Orleans. The Mississippi coast area has so much to offer tourist from Casinos to beautiful beaches and traffic is not so bad here.
