  1. Does anyone know if this means 2 days or 48 hours before departure?  If my ship leaves at 4 p.m. on Saturday, can I get the test at noon on Thursday? Or does it have to happen after 4 p.m.?  I would hate to get tripped up by this.'

    Thank you.

  2. Thanks for the info. It is most definitely a ship's excursion, so I imagine it will either leave from close by or they will put us in vans to head to the dock. I have done both for trips out of that port, so we'll see.

I am pondering whether I should be active or sorta active. I guess it will sort of depend on how many younger people are on the boat. They maybe should be ones doing the real work!

  3. I am trying to determine exactly what my benefits as a platinum cruiser are with regards to the specialty restaurants. I'll be on the Vista next month and would like to try JiJi Asian Kitchen and the Cucina del Capitano. Of course, I would prefer to do so without having to make an advance reservation. Does my platinum status allow me to just show up and eat without having to make a reservation even if all the reserved dining slots are taken?

The Carnival website says platinum guests have the following benefit: "Priority reservations at Main Dining Room and Specialty Restaurant".

As a practical matter, what does this mean? Who makes reservations for the main dining room, anyway?! I assume this means I can get my preference of early or late seating, but that is not what I am concerned about. Do any other platinum cruisers have experience with this for the specialty restaurants ? Thank you.

  4. Thank you so much for posting this. Very interesting and I can't wait to try this food.

I am a bit confused about the port of call menu- are these 2 entrees or sides or what? Can I get the tortilla soup AND the tacos AND an entree? Has anyone had experience with this?

  5. There are about 100 single men going to be on the Celebrity Silhouette Dec. 7, 2014. Aged 45+. But of course with them there are 2-3 times more single women. How i know this is there is a hosted singles cruise that i am going on and taking part in.

Shoot me an email if you care to know more.

Hi Cuz- I am interested in more info about this cruise. What is your email address?

  6. I've found the easiest way is to take your passports to the purser's desk before the ship makes it's first stop and ask them to have your passport stamped in the ports the ship will be calling on. Then, after the last port, you stop by the purser's desk and pick up your passport. This almost always works and I have gotten many stamps this way with very little effort.
