  1. Repetition is a good thing. It gets the information ingrained in our minds in such a way that the actions will be automatic should a need or crisis arise.

  2. Alick on the Star Princess for our Hawaii cruise in September-October 2015 was absolutely wonderful. He was sweet, thoughtful, considerate, patient, and respectful. He was the most even-keeled server we have ever met. Even when guests were being rude and hostile toward him, he treated them with total respect and kindness. His personality is outstanding. We still keep in touch with him.

  3. We were on this cruise and never heard anything like that. Yes, we were notified about influenza and noro. Yes, the crew was taking safety precautions. Sadly, some ill passengers were too selfish to confine themselves to quarters, because every time we walked around the ship, we heard and saw passengers coughing and even loudly telling others how sick they were or how badly they felt. It is not a problem with the the crew every time there is sickness onboard a crew ship.

  4. Congratulations on your progress. Today I am exactly two months from my hip replacement. I had an anterior approach with no motion restrictions after surgery. I'm under age 50 and in otherwise good health. I felt so good that three weeks after surgery, DH and I spent an entire afternoon at the mall, only to find myself unable to walk the next morning. At five weeks post-op, I would suggest that you not risk your recovery. I wish you continued success.

  5. Sabatini's on the Ruby has beautiful views! Although it has been three years since we were on the Ruby, we have been on other Princess ships since then and the staff on every ship has always been accommodating and willing to do whatever it takes to please their diners.

  6. While not first time cruisers, we will be sailing for the first time with RCI in a couple weeks. As is our norm, we have booked a suite, but I am afraid we will be disappointed because we are Princess cruisers and their suite perks are great: free laundry services, including dry cleaning and pressing; free internet minutes; nightly canapés; breakfast every morning in Sabatini's; evening reception in Skywalkers (on the older ships where it still exists); free minibar setup--to name a few. Do the current perks on RCI compare to those offered by Princess?

  7. My story doesn't involve what we saw, but what we heard. We booked a Princess Cruisetour of Italy and spent five days traveling from Rome to Venice where we were to board the ship. As we approached Venice by bus our tour guide gave us the option of going straight to the terminal for check-in or to the pier to catch a water taxi to Venice. A man who had spent the past five days being an absolute pain asked if the bus could just drive everyone to St. Mark's Square and drop s off there. He became quite offended when the guide told him that was not possible.
