  1. I sailed with a friend a couple years back that had meds that needed to be kept refrigerated - we went to the medical center and they were more than happy to keep it for her - meds are signed in and out and the medical staff was great!

  2. glad you mentioned that...the banjo soloist is replacement for the duo performing classical music, who were a replacement for the original Adagio quartet.

Now I've opened a can of worms regarding musical entertainment!

Better the worms are in the can than in the apples !

Regarding the banjo soloist: Maritime laws allow only a banjo soloist, anything else would be cruel to other musicians. Don't even get me started on the accordions!

  3. The dolphins at Anthony's Key are allowed to come and go as they wish. Several wild dolphins have joined the "pod". Females tend to stay in the area with their young, but the males go "out" freely and return at night. Dolphins are intelligent creatures, if there was any mistreatment they wouldn't come back! There are NO tanks - it's a natural lagoon.

  4. I never thought my dream of swimming with dolphins would come true, I feel that most of the "swim with the dolphins" enterprises on a cruise itinerary were cruel and inhumane, then I discovered Anthony's Key in Roatan Honduras.

The caring staff here have an educational program thru the Roatan Institute for Marine Science - Roatan Bay Island's Marine Research & Educational Facility, which includes dolphin interaction. These dolphins are very well cared for with a healthy and stimulating environment.

If someday your cruise plans take you to Roatan , stop by Anthony's Key - it was one of the best things I've ever done for myself!

  5. HamOp was spinning an extremely intricate lie for his Meet & Greet fib. :D. He's very serious about winning the $50 Beverage Card they give away for the best CC Meet & Greet. (Part of the "Fifty Bucks in Ale for the Best Tall Tale promo.**)

POA1 please add future cruises to your signature - you'll have a throng of fans following you around the world!

  6. We (twin and I) took a one nighter from Seattle to Vancouver, it was a great option for us as we were to sail on another line from Vancouver to San Francisco two days later.

We checked in very quickly - no code orange in Lido buffet. Explored the ship (Rotterdam) and on to muster drill with perhaps 20 others.

A lovely dinner in the dining room for the two of us followed by a show and onto the casino. Had a great time in the casino until about midnight when it closed and off to bed.

All in all a great "taste" of the Holland America experience.

We're sailing on a 5 night repositioning cruise in September and cannot wait for a deeper immersion into what Holland America is all about!
