  1. So I have a group that's grown to over 50 friends going on Liberty in March of 2017. If I had known this many were going to commit to going I would have contacted a TA and set up a group. As we said we were going on the cruise, friends just kept saying we will go. Several different TA's are being used and a few are booked direct with RCCI. We all have late standard dinning. We know we can't set at the same table but is there any way to get together in a section? We would probably move around to set with different people every night and a few will always be out to a specialty restaurant. I know this is a challenge but just wondering if we can at least get close.

In this instance I would definitely recommend sending an email to RCLDining@rccl.com about 4 weeks prior to your sail date requesting that your large group be placed near each other. Include all of the reservation numbers. They will forward the request to the ship.

  2. No Ad blockers that I am aware of (I still see plenty of ads!) - even switched locations and computers (I work between two offices that are about 6 miles apart, I posted just before I had to leave one to go to the other) and I see the same black box with an x in it.

We are sailing in 23 days (!!) and I had seen menus from September 14 on a cruising blog - I was wondering if the ones you posted showed even more changes.

If you are on a corporate network they are likely blocking the site where I put the images.

    Try accessing on your phone.

  3. If you often eat fish in the MDR, it looks like they do not even offer salmon every night as a classic choice like they used to.

Maybe it was an oversight since I thought the classic choices are supposed to stay the same every night???

Also, they now have cod, a very inexpensive fish, on 2 nights....day 2 and day 7. No more mahi, snapper or halibut which were on the previous new menus.

Certainly, a downgrade, without question! :(

I was really looking forward to the grilled mahi mahi and the honey scallops.

What I got was no mahi mahi or scallops on the menu at all.

  4. You'd have to give a lot more specifics here before I could make a decision on if I feel sorry for you or if I jump on "burn him" bandwagon:

What time was your flight scheduled?

What airport were you flying from?

What was your scheduled arrival time in port?

What time did you actually arrive in port?

When did the medical emergency occur and which port did you divert to for it?

Did you have any type of travel insurance?

  5. There was a woman who complained quite a bit at the iFly that she didn't know about the weight restriction and that the workers were trying to embarrass her. They waived the cancellation fee and tried to explain that the weight restriction is listed when you make reservations and is for safety and because the wind in the tunnel could only generate so much lift.

They should have just let her in to allow her to enjoy her iSit session.

  6. Thank you for posting these! We leave on Nov. 5th.

Can you tell me if this was for the Eastern or Western Caribbean?

They're usually in different orders. We sail on Western.

    Thanks!

This was Western, so the order would be the same for you unless they change the menus again before then.

I believe on Eastern days 5 and 6 would be flipped and the rest would remain the same.

  7. Just a heads up. My wife has an iPhone and I have a Droid. We cannot text each other through WIFI unless we use Google Hangouts (free app). I normally use Message+ on my Droid and can text Droid to Droid with no problem. Hangouts also has separate dialer app the allows you to make WIFI calls. If you do some more research you'll find there are other apps that do the same for no extra charge.

    Skype is also your friend.

You can text each other if you want.

Call each other if you want.

Video call each other if you want.

  8. Our waiter last week had:

    2 tables for 8

    1 table for 4

    4 tables for 2

    So 28 seats total.

We had 6:00 pm traditional dining. One of his tables for 2 was empty, but they would bring up MTD guests for him to service at that table usually at about 6:45.

Our assistant waiter was servicing all of our waiter's tables plus a table for 8 and a table for 6 from another waiter. So the assistant waiter had 42 seats total.

  9. So on my upcoming Anthem cruise in January they are offering 30% off. So I can get purchase for $8.99 a day. I assume that's a good price?

Has anyone seen it lower than $8.99 a day.

    Thank you.

That's a pretty good rate. Last week on Oasis if you wanted to buy it in 24 hour segments it was $19.99 for Surf and $27.99 for Surf and Stream.

For a length-of-cruise package it was $12.99 per day for Surf and $17.99 per day for Surf and Stream.

  10. Can someone confirm whether or not H20 zone is open on port days? I think it's mentioned above that the water was turned off for a time while in port. Is the lazy river whirlpool or whatever it's called open?

I was just on Oasis and the H20 zone was open while in port except for the last day when it was closed for cleaning (it was actually closed the entire last port day and the final day at sea on the way back to Florida).

The donut shaped current pool thing was open all day even while in port and even while the rest of the H20 Zone was closed for cleaning.

Rock climbing, zip line, and Flowrider tended to open around 3:00 PM on port days even if we were in port until 7:00.

Minigolf and ping pong tables are always open.

  11. It seems like they used to put more attention towards matching up appropriate table mates. Back in 2001 on our honeymoon cruise we were at a table for 10 with 4 other honeymoon couples. For the next few years we always seemed to be put with other couples of a similar age to us.

When we started cruising again frequently around 2010, though, it just seemed to be completely random. One time we (a couple in our 30s at the time) were put at a table for 8 with a couple in their 70s and a family of 4 with husband/wife in their 50s and kids in their early to mid 20s. The next cruise we took for our anniversary, we were placed at a table for 6 with four older single ladies (who didn't know each other) who probably ranged in age from 60 to 80.

After those 2 awkward experiences, we now always request a table alone for 2 (if we don't have the kids) or 4 (if we do).
