I has a discussion last night about the cost of drinks/drink package. He mentioned that he pre orders a bottle (whiskey) from Royal before the cruise starts. The bottle is in his room when he checks in. This is not the little bottle (375mil) you get from gifts. He said it was a full size bottle, does not come with any mixers. Cost $80( about double the regular price). I have never seen this as an option. Has anyone heard of this or better yet, done it themselves?
Here’s the site.

Not sure when you are thinking about doing it, but if you get a suite during the times of the year that the kids sail free - 3 of them will be free.

I drink vitamin water zero ( I bring my own) with vodka.

Here is a link to an old thread on the cake topic. DW will be celebrating her 50th Birthday on our cruise. I was going to order a cake but after reading the thread I decided against it. a picture of the actual cake received is at the bottom of page 2
I honestly think that was a fluke. We've received 4 cakes on separate occasions and they always looked like the celebration cake they have posted online.

The cakes that we have ordered have been much better than the cakes I've had in the dining room or Windjammer. We have ordered cakes a few times in advance to be sent to the dining room and they have never had any idea what we were talking about when we asked the waiter at dinner. Once they brought us second cakes to the cabin the day after we had the first ones.
Just be sure to let them know that you ordered a cake at the start of dinner.

We do the KSF twice a year, but in different school years. The kids get their work in advance and we always make time to do it on sea days. We haven’t had any issues and the kids still make the honor roll.

I live about 3 hours away and I would love to drive up there and cruise out of NJ, but with those prices it’s still cheaper to fly to Florida.
-
Ugh. Darn.
Last year I started booking suites for our cruises for the year in anticipation of KSF. If for whatever reason the decide to stop running KSF then I will just switch us to a regular cabin.

I booked an 1A cabin for a 2021 sailing since the price was the same as the balcony cabin, but of course KSF doesn't go that far out.
Just wondering if the KSF promo comes up, does the cabin prices also go up ? There are only a handful of 1A cabins so does the price go up dramatically when they reprice (since it would be sold out) or it would be around what I had paid at the time.
I just had two cruises adjusted for this year for the KSF and they didn't reprice them. Everything stayed the same and they just removed the fare for the 3rd and 4th passengers. I also added one of my kids to a cruise and the rate didn't change.

Deciding between these two options: March 2020 with two teenagers
navigator B2B
nassau twice and Perfect Day twice
Harmony
St. Maarten
Puerto Rico
Perfect Day
difference in price: Harmony is like $600 more.
i know Harmony will have newer staterooms. Is it worth $600 more?
You can try to get one of the newer staterooms on Navigator if that's the deciding factor.

Oh, so I would just make the booking and by adding my child it will automatically add the promotion?
Yes. Sometimes the kids selection box is highlighted, but other times it's not. Yow will see the discount once you go all the way through to the "Who's Traveling" page.

I have never understood the negativity surrounding Falmouth- it's just very peculiar as we've never experienced the slightest feeling of being unsafe. Labadee and Falmouth are out favorite ports.
We have done Chukka without the kids, but with the kids we have done resort for day and visited the Hyatt Ziva and Jewel Runaway Bay resorts. Both were great!

Do you mean Paradise Beach? Dont think Passion Island has a pool.
I was there in January hoping to enjoy the heated pool and it was freezing too unfortunately!
I did. Thanks! I couldn't figure out how to edit it.
Noooooo it wasn't heated? Ugh! Thanks for the warning.

The pools are freezing at Playa Mia in the winter. None of my kids nor my husband would get in with me and the pool was empty. The "hot tub" is freezing and miserable. I have been to Sanchos twice in early March and the pools were still pretty cold.
Looking forward to try Passion Island in April since the pool is heated!

It could have been that the size you needed were already in use - perhaps several younger ones skating. I read in one of their ads they had skates in sizes 2-7 for kids. Don’t know what size kids wear any more!
Oh wow. That's good to know, thanks. I will check early next time. We had to get on the waiting list last time.

We just came back from Indy with my 3 year old. He lived for the kids club and is still talking about it, but he also really enjoyed playing at the pool, mini golf and the arcade. They didn't have ice skates his size, but hopefully he can try that in a couple years.

There is a big difference in being in a cabin that holds 2 people to being in a cabin that hold more than 2 such as a 2 bedroom suite.
OP. If your cabin is meant for 2 you would have to change cabins which means paying current rates for all passengers.
Oops yes. Missed that part

Is it still based on spend or is do they go off of your tier level? I am Mlife Gold through Hyatt and when I called Royal to try to get a match they told me that I could only be matched based on my annual spend at a Mlife casino.
-
I added two more people to our two bedroom on indy and it wasn't repriced. We just paid the same price as we did for the third person.

I suggest that on your next cruise you go to guest services and ask specifically about the arcade, as I've been told the opposite on two cruises now.
Johnny Rockets was $11 last week on Freedom
$11? pp? That's ridiculous

Again, unless it's changed, the arcade is a different system from other charges on board. So even if you turn off charging privileges on their card, they can still use the card to get credits in the arcade.
I left my card in the cabin and we tried to use my younger son's card to purchase arcade credits and we couldn't purchase them. This was on Independence last month so it may vary based on the ship.

Thanks for sharing this. I need to find a new TA. I asked mine about this and she said they never know about the sales beforehand.

Thanks for the information, so if I get my granddaughter an arcade card she wouldn't be using her seapass card right?
She would use her sea pass card for the arcade. Before you go to sail go to the cruise planner and purchase arcade credits for her. When you buy the credits you can select the child's name that you would like for them to be applied to.
The kids can't go over what has been pre-purchased for them unless they have charging privileges in their card.
Symphony of the Seas - COVID Outbreak

I was on the 7/3 Allure sailing and it was a mess. It was short of staff and they were definitely not practicing any special COVID protocols. Limited hand washing, and the cleanliness was not up to par.
