  1. Hi all

An issue has come up today which potentially impacts upon our cruise in early October 2018. The issue is not covered (at this stage) by our travel insurance.

Rather than cancel and lose 50% of our cruise costs does anyone know if there is a way or option to sell the cruise off-market and transfer the cruise into another couple names or would this be considered a cancellation?

    thanks in advance.

  2. When you get to the Gulf of Aden you will be on 'Pirate Watch' so you will not be using your balcony and the banks are more distant here. This is only for about 6 days or so.

During the transit of the Suez it is fairly boring, lots of sand either side, dotted by camps, guard towers & heavily armed protection forces, so side does not really matter. It also depends on the time you do the transit & your position in the convoy. When we did it we had to be at a mustering point off Port Said by 7pm. Our transit started about 10.30pm. We arrived at the Great Bitter Lake early morning, so wasn't much to see in the dark. We started the 2nd leg at about 1pm and we were at the beginning of the convoy, although again not a huge lot to look at. About 30 minutes of watching the banks saw me done. Depends if it particularly interests you. The initial passage may be more interesting if you do this during day light hours.

Others may have more info. Hope this helps.

  3. Hi Bonnie

Thank you for your reply and information. We are relatively new to the cruising world and have yet to sale on Azamara but will be on the cruise from Venice to Athens (whole ship is being chartered) that joins the cruise we are looking at doing (Athens to Dubai) in Oct 2018.

I like the look of the LCV member upgrade option, do you know if we would be classified as LCVs even if we went on the Azamara via the charter I mentioned?

We dont know whether to wait for potentially another sale or to book early? It is so far away.

    Thanks Teresa

BOGOHO will undoubtedly be repeated in the future but it is unlikely the future promotion will include the same voyages on offer as now.

Two other considerations to factor into whether to wait are: categories sometimes sell out, and prices typically increase across the board as the voyage approaches.

[but that said, I've not seen Athens-Dubai sell out completely.]

Are you an LCV member (past cruiser) with Azamara? If so I'd suggest buying now with the BOGOHO+ and applying for the LCV upgrade.

Here's the webpage with more information on the upgrade: https://www.azamaraclubcruises.com/le-club-voyage/le-club-voyage-program/member-savings/stateroom-upgrade

  4. Hi there We are just starting to look at the 18 Night Voyage of Discovery from Athens to Dubai on October 13th 2018. This is a very unusual and amazing itinerary.

In our researching we have seen the current offer of BOGOH - any experienced cruisers out there know if they have these sales very often? We are prepared to wait for the next sale so we could hopefully save some money so we could maybe get a balcony.

Thanks in advance for any insights.

  5. Hi

Has anyone recently been to the Lagoonarium in Moorea or does anyone have an email address for them?

Their website isnt working and I am just after some info about times that they offer the transfers to their motu or if there is some way I can visit without having to rent a car at the pier.

    Thanks

    Teresa
