I checked my Virgin account today and had a credit on my dashboard.

We had originally paid $1868 towards our sailing.

The credit on my Virgin account is for $1767.02.

Not 2x like promised or even 1x what we paid.

    Weird.

    James

I logged into my wife's Virgin account and she has the remaining credit.

Her account has $1968.98 and mine has $1767.02.

This is the correct 2x total of $3736.

Everything is correct, but wow that's a weird way to do it.

You don’t need to sail by july 31st to get the free voyage.

If you use any of your 200% FTV on a 2022 cruise booked by 31st July you will get an access key for another voyage.

So you could use your credit on a cruise this year and get a free voyage next year or another this year if you wanted.

    That's great!

The website says, "Sailors must use a portion of the new 200% FVC on the 2022 sailing by July 31st, 2022 to be eligible for an Access Key."

I was reading that I had to sail by July, but you're probably right that using a portion of our FVC by July 31 is not the same as sailing by July 31.

I'm still curious what sailings are eligible for the free voyage.

I could be wrong, but I think it works like this.. 200% credit towards a new cruise, and if you book by July 31 then you will get an access key for a sea terrace or above room (still have fees and taxes to pay.)

Anyone more cruise savvy correct me if I'm wrong...cause right now that sounds like a too good to be true deal.

It looks like you need to cruise by July 31 to get the access key for a complimentary cruise.

My questions is which sailings are eligible for the complimentary cruise; 4 nights?, 8 nights?, Caribbean?, Europe?

We had a Rock Star suite booked so at 200% we'll have tons of credit.  I'll cruise this month or next to get a free cruise later, but what will that be??

  4. If anyone was wondering:

The cruise left from terminal 6 and we parked our cars there.

The cruise returned to terminal 3 and they had SUV's shuttling people to their parked cars at terminal 6.

There was quite a rush to claim the SUV's as hundreds of people needed to get to there vehicles.

Our family of 4 and another family of 4 claimed the same SUV for about 15 seconds.

We decided not to argue and then squeezed 8 people, our luggage, and the driver into a Suburban.

It was a bit of a disaster for those involved.

  5. We are sailing from Tampa on Brilliance of the Seas 11-03-2018 and the Tampa port schedule says we're sailing out of terminal #6.

The next sailing 5 days later says its sailing out of Terminal #3.

Are we going to dock and get dropped off at terminal #6, then Brilliance will move to terminal #3?

Or, are we going to dock at terminal #3 and have to walk to our cars parked at terminal #6?

Anyone have any experience with this?

    Thanks,

    James

  6. 1. You can sign up any time. I suppose it could reach capacity at a particular time if all the kids on the ship suddenly went but haven't experienced this.

It is best to sign your kids up the first day with everyone else.

Yes, you can sign them up at anytime, but when the line to drop your kids off is already out the door it best not to take up everyone's time while you're filling out paperwork.

  7. Thanks for the all the replies. This is disappointing. I was excited to see a Freedom Class ship head to the ABC Island, but not so much now.

We have younger kids so the H2O water park is a big plus on sea days. I know these are port intensive itineraries, but its still nice to have for those one or two sea days.

    Thanks again,

  8. Did RCL drop Bonaire from the Freedom summer 2018 itineraries?

Their deployment flyer shows Bonaire, and their website had it yesterday afternoon.

I just checked the website and Bonaire is now replaced with St. Thomas.

I haven't heard great thinks about Bonaire, but I've never been there and was hoping to try it next summer.

    Anyone have any insight?

    Thanks,

    James

  9. Hello! We just booked our first Oasis cruise! Have only done Freedom ship before (deck 7).

Is deck 12 too high? I have never had a Cabin higher then deck 7. We also like quiet and we do have cabins above and below us.

My family has stayed in Central Park balconies on deck 12 twice. We are pool people and have two kids that enjoy the kids club, Adventure Ocean.

Deck 12 gives you one "buffer deck" between you and the pool, but is still an easy walk up to the pool deck.

It also gives you easy acces to Adventure Ocean on deck 14.

We've also stayed in ocean view balconies on deck 12 for these same reasons.

Our last cruise on Allure we were in ocean view balconies on deck 7 due to availability. They offered better access to Central Park and the boardwalk, but we had to take the elevators to the pool deck.

I wouldn't worry too much about noise on deck 12. Can you hear the pool deck, yes. Is it that bad, no.

I would think about the areas you use the most and find a cabin closest to that. We're pool people so the higher the better for us.

Whichever way you go you're going to have a great cruise!

  10. I know! We were very disappointed by that change. It was really the only reason we ate at Sabor. We still enjoyed the lunch, but it is definitely not the same value for money that it used to be. Here is the menu at a different angle. Hope it helps. Enjoy your cruise!

I can also e- mail you the original size, which may be easier to read. Just ask at APDMOM@live.com

Thanks for the email offer. Email sent.

It looks like they don't have the Caja de Dulces "box of sweets" dessert anymore either. Oh well. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to starve.

  11. When you have way too many pictures and all these neighborhoods to cover, it is hard to know where to start. So, I will start at the beginning of our cruise, which happened to be at the Boardwalk.

Boarding was delayed due to ‘extra sanitizing’. Yes, we arrived to a letter that explained a small percentage of previous guests had experienced what they believed to be Noro virus. We later found out from our waiter only 30 people had reportedly been effected.

Our original plan was to eat at the Park Café, since we thought we would be some of the first passengenrs onboard. Well, with hundreds of passengers already waiting between Pinnacle and Emerald, we knew we would have to make plan B.

Plan B was lunch at Sabor. Unfortunately, they took the sampler off the menu (pay $20 for enough food to share among 3). We ordered a la carte and I tried my first Avocado Margarita. This is one reason I was glad I got the ultimate package for the glitch price of $310!!! I did not like the margarita that everyone raved about, so I did not finish it. No guilt for ‘$13’ wasted.

What! No more sampler?! I'll be on Allure next week and was planning on that.

We have reservations for Sabor the first night. Do you have a closer picture of the updated menu?

Thanks for the review. It'll help me make it through the the next 8 days!

  12. We had cabin 7136, it was at the front of the ship right before the life boats start so we had a unobstructed view down. Our location was great, it was fairly close to the elevators without being a high traffic area. While it was a connecting stateroom we never heard our neighbours. We only heard noise in the morning from the hallway when room service came with people's breakfasts or the stewards were out cleaning rooms early.

Awesome! It looks like we have the same room, and the connecting room, just on the starboard side of the ship.

We've never been this low on an Oasis class ship. All our previous sailing we've been on deck 12.

Your video really helps us know what to expect. It looks like it'll be great!

    Thanks again,

  13. Yeah, I think that was me then as well.

Just gave them a call and it is still the new bookings only - again, she tried. And she agreed with me that she thought it would make much more sense to let me upgrade and then resell my cabin at the higher rate on OVs now, but she couldn't get around it.

Keep calling. I seem to get different answers every time I call.

Also, try asking for a manager, or the manager's manager.

Calling the Crown and Anchor number, as mentioned previously, is a good idea.

Even is they won't give you money back, they should let you move rooms at no cost.

Keep trying. Persistence could pay off.

    Good luck,

  14. Just uploaded day 2 which was a Sea Day, we didn't do much this day just enjoyed the pool deck and participated in the first day of bingo and checked out some stuff on the promenade.

Tomorrow's video is going to feature Labadee, we spent the day at the Columbus Cove beach which I highly recommend! A lot of people warned how beaches were very rocky in Labadee, but Columbus cove is clear and lovely! It was much quieter than the other beaches, it is a walk to get to though and the heat was incredible that day.

The market with the locals was quite an experience. We found just walking in the middle and talking to one another made them bother us less. They are certainly aggressive, but not as aggressive as the locals outside the gates in Falmouth, that was a interesting experience in itself - we had one particular man follow us around and hassle us our entire time as we roamed the streets. More on that in day 4's video I believe.

Be sure to subscribe to the channel to get notified of when we post next - Day 3's video may be either really early or really late tomorrow. I have a 18hr work shift tomorrow...ahh back to reality :(.

I just watched your first video and was curious what cabin you had on deck 7. Our family will be in 7534 and 7536 on Allure in two week.

    Thanks for posting the videos!

  15. We just booked Serenade and I was interested in this also.

From the pictures I saw online, it looks like the beds are under the window unless you have connecting staterooms.

The beds in connecting staterooms look to be parallel to the window.

By no means am I 100% certain of this, but it's what I found.
