BLJ1, such bad luck to have not one but two itineraries cancelled or changed, but it is likely to be for safety reasons.

Think you were wise to cancel.

We have done more than one itinerary in that area and all the good ports have gone apart from Muscat, one of our favorites. Fujairah and Khor Al Fakkan offer little.

As for the Caribbean, hurricane season usually finishes around the end of November. We joined E1 on Nov 25th last year and had wonderful weather throughout. It was actually too hot for us at times.

    Hope you find something.

  4. Thank you for your replies, unfortunately have received an email to day from Marella, they have changed the itinerary, which gives 2 extra sea days, however they have also changed two of the stops, which I am not happy about. I may have a refund which is an option they are offering, just not sure where to go instead, thinking of Thailand, but so disappointed at the moment, I need to have a long think about, thanks again much appreciated

  5. Hi, is anyone going on this cruise? I have put a few posts out, but no replies. Does anyone have any advice on trips, we want to go to Petra, thinking of booking a driver before we Cruise. Just myself and Husband, we don't normally book excursions with the Cruise Ships as they are expensive, any info really would be gratefully appreciated, we haven't travelled to the Middle east before.

Could anyone out there advise if I will need different currency for the various stops as in the Itinerary  below :

    • Aqaba (for Petra), Jordan

  6. Hello, I havve booked on this cruise and recived an email from TUI this week, with our details etc, I have copied this for from the need to know section....

guests who are embarking or disembarking in Muscat will now need to apply for their visas before they travel. This must be done at least one week prior to arriving in Oman and will be valid for one month from the date of purchase. Please visit https://www.cibtvisas.co.uk/marella for specific visa requirements and prices for your cruise.

I have also looked on line and trying to find out more about Visas on other sites as I have a feeling that TUI could be making money on this

  7. Yes 1959  definitely produced some wonderful women  😉. Already getting excited for my Cruise.  Marella sounds good, looking forward to the entertainment as was getting a bit bored with the other cruise ships...only 6months to wait 😨… 6 months to lose weight....still no Roll Call ahh well just might have the ship to ourselves lol

  8. Hi everyone,

Thanks for your replies, much appreciated. I know I've done the right thing, I've always sailed with Celebrity or the Royal Caribbean, but judging by the reviews I don't think there's going to be that much difference. I will be happy to come back with a Tan and memories... Thanks again and hope you all enjoy your next holidays 😎XX

  9. Hello everyone, finally decided and have swapped the Corfu cruise for the Arabian 1 in November on Discovery, what a performance to do this !!!  Will have to look for something else to do now for my 60th, friend of mine trying to get me to do a zip wire in North Wales !! who knows might go for it. Lexdisic have you booked this ?, I've been looking for Roll Call but can't find one...

  10. Thank you both for your replies. This is looking good at the moment, the other side of it is that we booked last year for a stay and cruise to Corfu with Marella in September, we booked as my partner always get problems booking dates off, however he's now going self employed sodas are not a problem. It's also my 60th and  don't really want to be in Corfu for that. I've worked out the prices and to be honest it's working out slightly cheaper for the Arabian cruise (that's what TUI are calling it).  One of the main factors for me is weather I like it hot !!

  14. Hi

I've cruised quite a lot, but never in September, we are now looking for a fly/cruise form UK, around the 17th September but not sure where to go, as I love the sun so must be somewhere hot. Any suggestions much appreciated. Thinking about the Caribbean

    Cheers

  15. Hi

Thinking about taking a Caribbean Cruise, in September, my 87 year old mum and 13 year old granddaughter may also be coming.

Any advice on what the sea will be like then i.e. calm or a bit choppy as my mum has sea sickness before and it's now putting her off.

Also not sure whether to have inside or balcony cabins, myself and partner always have a balcony but this is going to be costly with my mum and granddaughter, , who wants a cabin between them, so we are not looking at a family cabin.

we will be flying from the united kingdom , which of course adds to the expense.

Will the weather be hot ? as I enjoy the sun and relaxing by the pool.

    Any advice etc greatly appreciated

  16. Hi

We have cruised a number of times as a couple, however, this year my 13 yr. old granddaughter and 87 year old mother may be coming with us.

Due to my partners work we are limited as to when we can go, looking at end of August through to beginning of December. We are thinking of doing Southern Caribbean beginning of September, but I'm worried about the weather. We like it hot, need excursions to suit the various age groups and evening entertainment.

Looking for suggestions on where to cruise and when. We will be flying from UK, looking to do 10 to 14 days. Any help much appreciated

  17. Firstly I must say that I can not thank you all enough for your replies, I have only just returned from a day out with my family (including my mother) we are making the most of the summer weather... we have decided to look at a lightweight travelling wheelchair, after a chat over a traditional Sunday dinner, with the family she is now quite happy to give it a try, thank goodness. I will let you all know what we decide, I am going to look at having assistance at embarkation and flying home, as stated I haven't had chance to have a good look at all your replies, again I thank you all.
