  1. We looked for a collapsible drawer at Dollar Tree over the weekend, but couldn't find anything. Where in the store did you find one?

Like was already mentioned, they do sell fast and are in the closet section near the mothballs and mesh hampers.

In my Dollar Tree, had I not been specifically looking for them, I would have missed them. They were in a bin on the bottom and, because they are folded flat in plastic wrap, it's hard to tell what they are. Most patterns have blue and maroon in them and they come in a few different sizes. You have to pick through them to find what you want.

  2. Autumn flowers are on my list for my next order. Please let us know how you like them! They are really great for toes, and look so cute! :)

I will put up some pics after I get them and put them on. If I am impressed enough, I may put them on my fingers too. :)

I'm waiting for my Jamberrys to arrive too! I ordered white ones with little anchors on them for my cruise. =)

I thought those were really cute for a cruise. The only problem for me was they only came in blue, if I remember correctly. With most of my wardrobe being purple, pink, & red they were a no go.

  3. In the past I have always done my mani/pedi myself and brought the polish with me to fix the chips (which are always worse on fingers, btw!)

But then a friend of mine introduced me to a product she sells called Jamberry Nail Shields. They are similar to the Sally Hansen ones you can get at the drugstore, but they are better quality. They're supposed to last up to 2 weeks on fingers and 6 weeks on toes. Ive had mine last 14 days on fingers (and Im a Dental Hygienist so Im constantly washing my hands / using cleaning solutions) and my toes are on 5 weeks today! :) I get TONS of compliments on them from random people... even had a car dealer ask me for my friends website so he could order for his daughter.

I have a long time before my next cruise :(, but Im trying to decide between these three for my nails. (Or maybe Ill even find something I like better by then?! They have something like 200 designs.)

Patriotic Whimsical Swirl (which I bought specifically because they remind me of the Carnival logo)

    Aloha Flower

    Flip Flops

Oh my goodness, CC is costing me money again.

I've haven't painted my toenails since I was a teenager and I'm now 48. After seeing these Jamberry things a couple of days ago, I clicked on the link and ordered some. :D The ones I bought are called autumn flowers or something similar. They don't look like fall colors to me, I just wanted something with both purple and red. Can't wait to get them.

  4. Bought the holders at Walgreen's ( but they are $2. in CT!) and can't seem to find out where to print the passes. I could print out the Set Sail pass but I couldn't even sign up for electronic vs mailing of cruise docs. Am I just too early? My ship sails 11/2/12. Thanks for help!

Yes, it's too early. We just got our eDocs for 10/13 a couple of days ago.

I was at Walmart today and found these same travel toothbrush kits there for 97 cents. They were in the aisle with all the sample size things, not the regular toothbrush aisle.

I bought 7 of them and they are perfect!! I put the folded luggage tag in them so both sides are visible with the same information. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to trust the little loop thing that came on them, or make a hole for my stronger bands. I tried to pull the little loop hard to see if it would give, and it didn't break. Being a Type A, though, I'm sure I will end up securing it another way.

Thanks, Starry Eyes for the tip! Worked out great. :)

To those that made their own tags, thanks for posting pics! I love seeing what others come up with.

  5. That is the kit...well done, Mrs Toad. Once the toothbrush, paste, toothbrush cover and card stock are removed, the resealable bag is reasonably sturdy...it will certainly protect a printed tag from moisture and tears.

Thanks, I love the outside-the-box thinking. I will be using these too. Way cheaper than the ones I've seen online and they didn't even come with free toothbrush and toothpaste. :D

Love it! I will be at Walgreens tomorrow!

Me too. Going to pick some up for all of our luggage and some for my parents. Walgreen's is going to be confused by the sudden surge in travel toothbrush kit sales.

  6. If I knew I would sleep thru the noise, I would be perfectly happy on a cot in the engine room too. I'd still be on a cruise! Plus my dad would probably be sleeping right next to me. He's a retired Nave Machinist Mate, and he CAN sleep on a cot in the engine room! He actually slept thru a 7.1 earthquake once. Only woke up when the 6ft tall entertainment center in the living room crashed to the floor.

LOL. My dad was in the Navy also. I think it contributes to his love of ships and cruising.

  7. Only been on one cruise so far but...I can say I really don't care what TYPE of stateroom I'm in. I do kinda care about LOCATION tho. On the first cruise my friend and I had an Inside my mom picked, while my parents had a Aft Penthouse Suite. So I got to experience both ends of the spectrum. While I liked the space in the Suite and enjoyed being out on their balcony, I was just as comfortable and happy in my tiny little inside.

Having said that, I am a VERY light sleeper. I didn't have a problem before because my inside was the last one on the section in our hallway on deck 8. But I do worry about being kept awake so for our next 2 (:D) cruises I have chosen specific rooms. There is only staterooms above, a hallway below and since they are sideways rooms on the end, they only have people on one end. On our cruise in 136 days its my parents right next to us so no problem there.

Thank you for a real answer. :)

I can understand the location thing. I used to be a light sleeper also, now I take Ambien every night and could sleep on a cot in the engine room.

  8. Oh my goodness, OF COURSE I know that it's personal choice and everybody is different. I'm not deranged. Geez....

Again, what I was wondering is if anyone here feels the same way about it that I do. I was especially curious if anyone's feelings on the subject have changed with more cruise experience. Perhaps cruising is so new to me that I haven't noticed annoyances yet.

  9. Seriously, I couldn't care less. As long as the cabin is clean and I'm on a cruise, I'm good. :D

I have read lots of threads since I've been on CC and it seems everyone here requires minimum of a balcony.

Maybe when I have taken more cruises I will become more jaded. As it stands, I can't imagine paying more for a room that I barely spend any time in. First cruise I never got back to our cabin until 2am or so and was up, showered and out of there by 8am.

  10. Do we have any real BBWs (Big Beautiful Women) here? I have some clothing and shoes from before I lost 120+ pounds. This stuff is in women's sizes of 34 and 36. I also have shoes size 10 or 11.

I know I threw a bunch of stuff out before I discovered this board. I'll have to go back through it and see what I have that I will never wear again.

  11. Thank you so much. I have been wanting this dress but could not bring myself to spend that kind of money on just 1 dress, when I could buy several at Ross for that price. With the 50% off and with the sale price....I just ordered this dress

    You're very welcome. :)

I can't get your picture to show up or your link to work. :(

Hi all, Ive been looking at all your gorgeous dresses and thought I would post a pic of one that I have just bought. I am going on the Queen Mary 2 from Adelaide in Australia to Southampton next year, 34 nights. I am NOT a dress up girl, its not that I dont like it, but have very little confidence in my body and myself. So I think all this dressing up is going to do my head in!

It's a beautiful dress and you will feel fantastic once you put it on. Who knows, maybe you will come away from the cruise with a new appreciation for dressing up. You sure did pick a nice one to start with. :)
