  1. Hi! Traveling to Ocho Rios this summer on a cruise. My teenage daughter and myself would like to do DRF for sure, and maybe Blue Hole. I would rather do a small group private tour up DRF so we don't have to do the long human chain thing. Just want to make sure it is safe to hire one of the tours. Also do people suggest doing both DRF and Blue Hole. Thank you so much for your help!!!

  2. HI! I am staying in Miami the night before my cruise this July. My daughter is 14. We are staying at the Intercontinental Hotel. I am looking for a suggestion for dinner. I don't mind taking a taxi to South Beach. I am looking for a restaurant that has a nice atmosphere and really good food. Price doesn't matter. Thank you for your help.

  3. Hi! I am cruising on the Divina this summer. I do like to watch some Netflix for a little bit before I fall asleep. I was wondering if the Internet speed is fast enough for that. Also if anyone has streamed on the biggest internet package, did it eat up to much. (On Celebrity it was fast enough to stream.).

    Thank you!!!!!

  4. Hi! I went to roll calls for my ship, and no one started a thread yet so I did. No one has responded. I am cruising Divina July 15, 2017. I have cruised many times before on different cruise lines. How does MSC do their roll calls? (Different cruise lines do it differently.).

    Thank you for your help.

  5. The SLS pool in sandwiched in between the SLS and the Infinity Condo building so it doesn't get much sun.

I'm at the hotel a lot for the restaurants but haven't seen any of the rooms in person yet.

I would chose either the East Hotel or The Four Seasons. The Four Seasons pool deck is incredible. The East Hotel pool is smaller but is very pretty.

Brickell Citi Centre is in open mall, brand new. There will be a high end movie theatre opening any day now. Restaurants and shops. Fun to walk around.

As far as the food, check out the menu at the Edge Steakhouse. http://m.edgerestaurantmiami.com/menu/bar_menu/

The bar menu is nice. Burgers are fantastic, though pricey. You can see the happy hour menu on the site as well. They are doing 2 for 1 appetizers, $1 oysters and half price drinks for yourself.

There are lots of restaurants all within walking distance. It all depends on what kind of food you prefer. Fi'lia at the SLS is one of my new favorite happy hours. Their pizza is fantastic and I love the happy hour menu.

I can make some suggestions if you let me know what kind of food you and your daughter prefer.

Thank you so much for all your help! I wish I made my flight for the day before! When it is closer I can try to change it to fly earlier, but they don't let you do that till 24 hours before. So assuming I can't change my flight and get in around 2 on Friday and don't have to go to the port till early afternoon on Saturday, (My cruise doesn't leave till 7), would you stay at the Four seasons, or Intercontinental? I checked the others you mentioned and I like the Four Seasons the best.

As far as food goes, I like all kinds of food! I guess we would like to eat somewhere where we feel like we are on vacation, i.e. A pretty view. Would you suggest going to South Beah for dinner,, or is that not necessary? Thank you again so much!!

  6. Hi! Thank you for your help! Coming in to Miami one day before our cruise out of POM. I have stayed at the Intercontinental before and did like it, although it did feel a little corporate to me. I am traveling with my teenage daughter. I saw pictures of the Four Seasons and it looks really pretty! I just don't know if it is worth double the price of the Intercontinental. We fly into FLL at 2, and will take a shuttle over. We are taking the Divina the next day that doesn't leave till 7 so I am not in a rush the next morning to be first to board. We like to swim and eat a nice dinner, not much of a shopper. Which one is better in your opinions? Also should I consider South Beach? I would want to do one of the bigger hotels.

  7. You are probably referring to the overhang from deck 14

12081 is on the forward hump and so is totally unaffected by the overhang as it doesn't extend that far forward

HI! Hope I am not bugging you! I am just so excited! I also want to know if I should keep my room or try to move it. I am in 15015. Is that a good room, or should I try to move it or go to floor 16?

    Thank you!!!!!!

  8. You really have prices that have the Equinox Sky Suite at the same price as YC?! Normally YC is much cheaper.

I haven't been in a suite on Equinox but I have sailed YC three times on Divina. The thing I loved about YC is Le Muse, the YC restaurant, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, X's Luminae is not. YC has its own pool and hot tub deck; Equinox does not. The Top Sail Lounge is a much more beautiful room than Michael's Club. I find it hard to believe service could be any better than it is in YC.

I booked the Equinox when I was on the Summit and got an incredible deal with the Go Best package and $600 on board credit, so Es the Yacht Club is less but with Celebrity pre paid tips and $600 credit, it evens out.

  9. HI! I am having a really tough time deciding! I want to either go on the Celebrity Equinox in a sky suite, or try the Yacht Club. I have the Equinox held. Both cruises would be about the same cost. I am going with my 14 year old daughter. My daughter is kinda shy and doesn't look to make friends on the cruise. We stay together the whole trip. On sea days we like to relax, eat good food, and maybe a little pampering in the spa. We did the Haven on NCL in the past, but it is to expensive now. (Double what I have held on the Equinox or Yacht Club.). We did the Summit last year.

So I guess, of those who did both Celebrity and YC, which suite restaurant did you prefer? Did you see a difference in service?

  10. There is no doubt in my mind that the Yacht Club is the best choice. But beware that the food on Le Muse was a disappointment for us. We expected far better fare from an Italian line. While there were some excellent items, in general we like Luminae and even Blu better. Also, the Celebrity ships are nicer in the public areas. We found the Divina to be closed in and the shopping area to be claustrophobic. The color scheme was straight from the 1970s. We ate in the buffet only once and found it to be crowded and quite a mad house, though the food was very good.

Having said all this, the Yacht Club makes MSC far better than Aqua. The cabins are equal, but the butler service on MSC is much better than in a suite on Celebrity. In fact our complaint, such as it was, is that the butler service is TOO attentive. Upon arrival at the pier we were personally escorted into a waiting room on the ship. From there the Yacht Club experience really began. We look forward to repeating it, even as Elite+ on X.

    So

  11. musik07's post reflects my fears about MSC Yacht Club and NCL Haven -- the private area and the private restaurant may be very nice, but once you leave those areas you are on a true mass-market ship with all that that entails. With Celebrity, the entire ship is at a(n at least somewhat) higher standard. And the Retreat on Edge will provide everything that has been described here for the Yacht Club, along with everything else on Edge.

I am really excited about Edge! But for this summer it is not available. So confused as to what to do!!!!

  12. Le Muse, the YC restaurant, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every night of the cruise; Luminae does not. On our recent sailing, on sea days the Maître d prepared a fresh pasta dish on a special table/range in the restaurant. Best pasta aglio e olio we've ever had! On the second formal night Le Muse serves a butter poached lobster that is to die for!

Thank you for your response! So I guess you would suggest Yacht

Club more. I am going this summer with my teenage daughter. She is more a "foodie" than hanging with other teens.

  13. There is less drawer storage space and one less hanging closet in those aft S1's, plus the hike back there 3-4 times a day. If you get one of the S2's up forward, 2115/2117 or 2114/2116, they are under carpeted area of the oceanview café.

I did find a different date that has 2117 available that I could go, but it is the Eastern one. Have you done either of these and do you think the Western is better? Thank you so much for your help.

HI! They don't have those rooms available on those dates. 2120 is closest. Which one would you do? The S1 then? Also if I do go with an S1 they have floor 8, 10 or 12 left.

  15. Hi! I am going on the Equinox this summer with my teenage daughter. I went on the Summit last year in a Sky Suite and loved the amenities. I would rather save the money with the S2 but I am reading reviews that it can be loud under the cafe. (No other S2 were available). The S1 is $400 more for the week. Has anyone stayed in both on that type of ship? How bad is the noise? I am a light sleeper. I also have read it's not to bad at night, but I do enjoy sleeping in on sea days and taking an occasional nap.

    Thank you for any help!!

  16. Have you considered the 11 night western Ultimate Caribbean cruise which goes to costa rica, panama, columbia, cozomel and Grand Cayman. Each of those ports are very different...unlike the Caribbean islands that are essentially the same experience. If I had to pick between the two cruises you've asked about, I'd pick the eastern caribbean like most others.

I have to do in the summer when my daughter is out of school, and the 11 day is a little to long for me to be away. I want to thank everyone for their input!!! It has helped me a lot!!!!! I love Cruise Critic!!

  17. Have been fortunate enough to have cruised to all of these destinations, some multiple times. You will enjoy any of the places you listed, but since you asked for an opinion, We vote Eastern. Happy Cruising! Bob and Linda

Thank you for answering! If I do the Eastern, which has the nicest beach? I prefer to get a hotel pass for the day where it is not that crowded and have nicer a entities than other beaches. I don't mind if it costs more. Also, which place would have something fun to do? Like horseback riding? I did the all day excursion in St. Maarten, so I would prefer to do something different. If I do end up doing the Western, same questions for you. Thank you again for your help!!
