In addition, Emerald, Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle Club members can go online to www.RoyalCaribbean. com/UpgradePreferences or call one of our Loyalty Representatives (www.RoyalCaribbean.com/ContactLoyalty) in their local offices to preselect from a list of beverages to be included with their welcome waters & snack.

  3. found this in another thread and copy it

I never recommend SkyTrain to or from Amtrak, as there is no legal way to transport large suitcases on this line (bags can only go at your feet on on your lap, so bigger than a backpack is basically always going to break the law). While the odds are very low the rules will be enforced since trains are automated, if they are it's a $150 fine compared to less than $10 saving vs. taking a cab - and if you make a fuss our transit cops are, shall we say, rather heavy-handed in their response.

Sorry I have to ask again:

It's really not allowed to have a suitcase each with us in the skytrain ?

we plan to use it from airport to hotel, hotel to port, port to Pacific /AMtrak station.

    I'm confused now

  4. Just for information, when any other person see this thread:

    • Our friends brought us to Newark Airport
    • we use AIRTRAIN (free) to BUDGET rental car ( We booked a car with BUDGET.DE from Germany, insurance included... )
    • pick up car at 8:30 am ( cost ~70$ , no one-way-fee )
    • TOMTOM say: 45 min to JFK ( Remember Saturday morning)
    • we drive to the mall behind JFK ( 55min)
    • last shopping and food corner for lunch
    • drove back to JFK rental car station, drop off car ( gas filled up before, costs ~7$)
    • with AIRTRAIN to our Terminal....
    • =>until now, we don't know about costs for Tunnel, bridges etc.

  5. Are any of the casinos completely non-smoking?

I was on Allure years ago, & I think there was a non-smoking side separated by the poker room from a smoking side...is that correct for the Oasis class ships? And if it is correct, was it separated enough where you really did not have smoke on the non-smoking side?

While we are loyal to Royal, a family member has a lung disease so we are trying to find ships with non-smoking casinos.

Also, does anyone know if there are any non-smoking casinos on Celebrity, NCL or Princess?

Thanks in advance for any help.

IT depends I think were you go.

Last year in Australia Radiance casino was non - smoking.

  6. For satisfactory service, we normally tip a car or limo service driver in the New York City/New Jersey area 20% of the base fare. At a minimum, 15% would be customary.

If you arrange for a 10:30 am pick up you should have enough leeway to cover a situation where the ship is slightly late without your having to incur any additional charges. The car services do charge for waiting time, usually in 15 minute increments. You can ask Dial 7 how much they charge.

    Thank you .

They will pick us up near the ship ? Do they have a shield with name ?!

  7. I like to let you know answer of dial7: ( I think we will book with them)

Thank you for contacting us in regards to your booking inquiry.

You have the option of the
    Standard Sedan
    from
    Cape Liberty Cruise Port
    which would be 1
    4 Port Terminal Blvd Bayonne,NJ
    to
    JFK Airport

    would be
    $94
not including tips, tolls, stops and wait time
    if applicable.

That would be the address you would put in for pick up point.

    The
    Minivan
doing the same trip would be
    $141
not including tips, tolls, stops and wait time if applicable
    . The toll are approximately
    $17
and the tip is under your discretion.

The Mini Van can accommodate up to 5 passengers and 5 pieces of checked luggage as well.

Unfortunately there is no way of the drivers to have access on tracking what time a ship will dock.

You can check on our website for our fleet of vehicles. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions.

==> what do you tip usually 10%? 15%?

==> You have any experience if the ship is late?

  8. The difference in price will be nowhere near $150. When you make your car service reservations be sure to use the correct name of the cruise port...Cape Liberty. There is a different place in NJ where some ferries dock, Port Liberte, so you don't want to direct the car service to the wrong pick up location.

    Cape Liberty Cruise Port

    Thank you for your advices.

maybe we have friends they bring us after cruise to Newark airport?

I have to check, thank you also for the correct address

  9. Lousy idea and probably more expensive than a car service. It will cost you $55-65 to get to the rental cars at Newark Airport plus the cost of the car itself plus a $15 tunnel or bridge toll plus maybe a little turnpike toll plus some time and $$ to gas up the tank. You'd be doing it on a Saturday, so traffic might be OK, but it might not as well.

Work the time backwards. If your flight is at 4 pm, you have to be there at 1 pm. If you got off the ship for a 10:30 am pickup, you'd be at JFK by noon. This gives you some wiggle room in case there are any issues like late ship arrival, traffic, or accidents. The car services monitor the NY traffic and are familiar with alternative local routes through Brookkyn and Queens.

Agreed! Plus, it is very difficult to explain how antiquated JFK airport is compared to the modern up to date airports in Europe as far as systems and drop off of rental cars etc. Nightmare! On top of that the roads from EWR to JFK go through very urban congested areas. Again it's not like you are on a nice modern highway directly from point A to point B. Spend the money on the car service, close your eyes and tell them to wake you up when you get there. :-)

Thank you both, I will tell it DH

I found out that it was cheaper to start with the car service at Newark airport instead of Port Liberty ?( Difference of 150 $ ?! ) Can it be true?

  10. Hello,

I need your help and advice.

We are on our cruise with end port in Cap Liberty(Bayonne) .

( I don't remember why but we had our flight back from JFK  ).

I have read a lot how we can go from Cap Liberty to JFK ( Bus, Train, Metro, car service :dial7 / carmel) , but what would you - New Jerseyer/New Yorker advise to me? and what will it cost ?

Which is the best way we are two adults with 3 piece of luggage and 2 hand-luggage items also.

    Our flight is at 4pm.

(So transportation through RC excursion with 'sightseeing Manhattan' is not an option)

Thank you for your help !!!:)

    I will add this info:

  12. we both ( diamond) has booked a cruise for 2017 last week ( balcony), but only one person has a price reduction ?

Should not each of us has a price reduction ?

We had called Royal ( Germany) but they don't know what to do ?!:o

my question: each of us are qualified for an reduction? or just the 'room' ?

( It's the first time we booked direct with Royal... to catch a special cabin...)
