  1. Good morningI am shortly to travel on Arcadia for the first time although I have cruised on all the rest of P&O fleet.

Arcadia offered me the itinary for the dates I needed so what can I expect: Best bar, sunbathing spot, viewpoint and any other tips. This is the first time I have sailed adults only too. Thanks

  2. I too I too can recommend boat trip to Cies Island really beautiful beaches and scenery.

In Cartagena did a ships tour Tapas Trail it was brilliant walked all around Cartagena with a great guide and had tapas ( different ones at each) stop and took in the Roman remains. The guide was a Spanish girl who was studying English and had handpicked all the bars herself. It was an excellent tour.

  3. Hi I have cruised into Dubrovnik several times here are my trip tips

Agree with all thee comments about walking the walls of need currency make water and go early. Great views and go at own pace.

Done the cable car car too twice get shuttle bus to Pile gate and then cablecar station about five minute walk look up and look for cables!!!!

Again need currency or pay on credit card short journey to top but then amazing views and all facilities including a bar where you can view the panorama.

Last year did a Tuk Tuk tour ship organised and it was amazing picked up from quayside and travelled with another couple along lovely country roads seeing the sights from a different perspective. The guide was excellent and made regular stops in the two hour trip for photo opportunities. One of the stops was at the cable car station ( so anyone afraid of cable cars this is good for you)

Tour finished at Pile Gate and we then spent time in Dubrovnik and caught shuttle bus back. Anyone considering this trip book an early time slot as the roads are quieter and it's not too hot.

Love Dubrovnik never tire of it .

  4. Not sure of itinary but I too can recommend trip to top of Teide amazing views great guide worth every penny.

Gomera an absolutely beautiful island a trip through the National Park not to be missed.

La Palma did island tour from ship very interesting guide who made the trip.

    Enjoy

  5. Happy New Year to all fellow cruisers,

Travelling on Oceanas repositioning cruise in March and are visiting Marseille. A new port for us anyone any suggestions of places to visit or shore excursions or even what to do in port.

    Many thanks.

  6. After many years of travelling with my son I have decided that it is time to venture off on my own. Having been widowed ten years ago I am used to doing things myself but I also know that there are really friendly people on cruises to chat too.

Has anyone got any good recommendations of single Cabins across the fleet then when 2019 itineries are published I can see what's available.

    Many thanks:)

  7. Thanks for all the replies re my impending first outing with Cruise Connect. Pick up half an hour later than when travelled previously with Evesway from Preston.

Fingers crossed for luxury both ways:)

  8. Hi travelling on Aurora in two weeks time and using Intercruises transfer from North West. Have previously used Eavesway but this time coach was offered at booking. Just wondered if anyone had travelled with Intercruises recently and how they compare. Thankyou.

  9. Good morning

I would agree with Kruzseeka use the hoho bus. The route I would recommend is from Funchal ( tickets from waterfront) then it goes a little around Funchal before going along the old coast road to Camara de Lobos. Nice sleepy fishing village can I suggest Coral bar on seafront for a drink.

Also hoho bus you can buy an extra in the form of a trip to Cabo Girao where there is a glass floored platform over the cliff with great views. All facilities here toilets cafe and gift shop.

The hoho bus then takes you back down to Camara de Lobos where you then go back to Funchal.

Audio headsets are provided and wi fi can be picked up.

A great way to see Madeira costs about 18 euros for day pass.

Also I agree Pasteis de nat a amazing try the ones from Opan in Funchal a great cheap coffee and cake shop about five branches in Funchal all around the town.

I travel to Madeira a lot as well as cruising any questions ask I will try to help.

  10. Hi returned from a similar itinerary in April this is my suggestions of the ports.

    Lisbon.

As said a great port with lots to see and do public transport is easy, trams buses and the metro are all accessible. No trip needed here.

    Valencia

A wonderful city similar to Bilbao. We walked miles that day but with a toddler I would recommend the area around the science park and the oceanariums. The science park has a tourist train that takes you round the outskirts and Thenmaybe you could independently visit the oceanarium. You can walk from the ship in about fifteen minutes. The ships shuttle drops you in the town centre if you choose to go there the market is amazing.

    Cartagena

We did the ships tour Tapas Trail it was an amazing trip led by a student studying English. She took us to places I would never have found independently. The ship docks in the town so very doable on your own

    Gibraltar

We took a tour from the taxi drivers at the port £25 each went to Viewpoints St Michaels Caves Garrison and then he dropped us in the town and we walked back to the ship ( our choice) This was a two hour trip with all admission included oh sorry went to see apes as well

    Cadiz

Great port to wander went to Seville on another visit disappointed though too many gypsies haranguing you.

    Hope this helps a bit.
