  1. Cruisespecialists.com has some preliminary information and the itinerary, which is subject to change. You can put $100 each as preregistration through them, which is fully refundable.

Nothing on HAL site yet. I will be on the Amsterdam May 16-21, and will check with the future cruise consultant. I would rather book through HAL and then check all travel agencies for the best OBC and other offers.

Often Costco has great OBC, but it's not on their site yet.

I would love to do this cruise!!

  2. The cruise line will offer a series of 11 Western Europe and three Norwegian Fjords sailings between May 12 and June 20 and August 7 and October 16, 2017. Also available will be two shorter taster cruises.

Norwegian Jade (pictured) will arrive in Europe after a two-and-a-half-week dry-dock. Ports of call featured on its itineraries include Hamburg, Amsterdam, Zeebrugge, Le Havre, Alesund, Geiranger, and Bergen.

The line’s 2017 programme includes a total of five ships sailing in Europe, the line’s biggest ever European deployment.

Norwegian Getaway, which launched in 2014, will return to Europe to sail on eight or nine-night Baltic Capitals cruises to and from Copenhagen.

Norwegian Epic will sail in the Western Mediterranean; Norwegian Spirit will offer 10 and 11-night voyages between Barcelona and Venice and Norwegian Star will sail between Venice and the Greek Isles.

Norwegian’s managing director for EMEA, Christian Boell, said: “We’re clearly demonstrating our commitment to our European customers, especially cruisers in the UK, with these exciting summer itineraries.

“Not only are we offering the possibility to embark in Southampton but we are also bringing one of our newest and most innovative ships back to Europe.

“We’re convinced that this will encourage continued growth in the UK market, where we have just seen record breaking guest numbers in 2015.”

Northern Europe general manager, Nick Wilkinson, added: “I’m sure these exciting Southampton sailings will be music to our travel partners’ ears.”

New ship Norwegian Escape, which launched in October 2015, will spend summer 2017 sailing alternating seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from Miami on May 6.

This is not available in the US, apparently. Does anyone know when we can book from there for Europe 2017??

    Thanks!

  3. We booked the Viking Sea for May 28, 2017 (yes, 2017), and a lot of the DV6 cabins were already reserved. My TA said we can always switch cabins, if there is one available that we like better.

But I have not found a way to find out which DV6 cabins are reserved or are available. Most websites ask you to fill out a request form, and do not list available cabin numbers.

    Suggestions? Thanks in advance!

  4. I do have an international phone (not a smart one, though), and I now have it unlocked.

I believe to use it in Europe I can get a prepaid SIM card or just a European SIM card to be able to call in Europe.

Has anyone done that? Should I buy the card before I go? Should I do prepaid?

    Suggestions are welcome!

    Thanks in advance

  5. Three friends are thinking of sharing a suite that has a sofa bed. Has anyone tried to sleep on the HAL sofa beds? How bad is it? Is the mattress tolerable for at least 14 nights?

We are considering a Neptune Suite or similar.

    Thank you!
