  1. I definitely prefer twice a day. that has always been part of what makes cruising special. Returning to the cabin after the evening's activities and finding the bed turned down, a towel "creation" and the lights dimmed (plus all the wet towels from showering changed) is the BEST !!

  2. Was on the Pride week of April 23. They held it second day sea day at 12:30. Never even saw it in the Fun Times so missed it. Heard Cruise director was there with about 7-10 others. They really need to make it not during a meal time, and have more exposure so it's not buried in the middle of the small print.

  3. We were on board too. Didn't see the meet and mingle until after it was over. It was buried in the small print of the fun times. I think an email or note to the cabins of those signed up would have been much better. Also we thought the vibration throughout the entire aft of the ship was the worse I have ever felt and effected dinners in the main dining room very negatively. Otherwise the ship was clean, service was awesome and Steve and the entertainment crew worked SO hard and were great!

  4. we did that for our upcoming cruise and just a few issues came up that we weren't aware of. First of all, we had to go through the credit card's travel agency, which was only open during business hours and part of Saturday, which was very inconvenient for us. Second, they did not sell Carnival's cruise protection insurance, so we had to purchase our own. And third, they really had no specific inside knowledge regarding the ship or Carnival, so we had to do all our own research. That being said, we still saved close to $500.

  5. We had 3 in a room for the Pride this April. Called to add Grandma and move daughter into her room. We were told we could no longer keep our cabin as it was for 3 people and had to move to another location. Ended up moving up a deck to be next to daughter and grandma, but wasn't pleased that we had to pick another cabin.

  6. Seems unclear from the Dailies I was reading on other posts. does anyone know if long pants are required in the Tropicana dining room on the Getaway? All I could find was that long pants for men are required in Ocean Blu and Le Bistro, but no mention of the main dining rooms.

    thanks.

  7. What is most upsetting to most people is that changes are made after the fact. Have a large family group sailing August 1 which was booked in January. Most of us book a vacation with a specific budget and even "small" changes effect that. If corporate wants more revenue then charge it up front in the price so we know what we are getting into. This isn't about the value of the cruise in general, we all agree on that.. This is about feeding into the "nickel and dining" attitude that just seems to be getting worse.

  8. I think what most people are most upset about is not the additional $.55 per person per day, but the way that NCL corporate management is going about sneaking in multiple increases, changes in policy and overall decreases in the value of the purchased cruise.

We have a cruise booked for 8/1 on the Getaway, booked over 6 months ago and already have had 2 increases in the DSC, room service fees added, increases in the costs of certain specialty restaurants. People book a vacation with a certain overall budget in mind and while none of these are significant individually, in total for a large family travelling, it does have an effect. The cruise will really need to WOW us in order for us to ever feel comfortable booking an NCL cruise again.

  9. How long are the shows Burn the floor and Legally Blonde? Trying to figure out dinner times. Also, can you just walk in and out of the Grammy Experience and Howl at the Moon, or do you need to arrive at beginning time only? What were the lines like?

    thanks.
