  1. Has anyone done this excursion lately? We're looking at it for our upcoming cruise.

What days in March are you sailing?

We will be sailing March 2-10 and partaking in the Kon Tiki excursion and I would be happy to report back as soon as we get home!

  2. Is it just me or do those ice cream scoops look a bit odd... Sorry, but they have a "female" look about them!:p It just struck me funny.

Sometimes I feel like I’m talking to myself…when no one comments…but that’s okay, because I kinda’ do that sometimes, anyway – talk to myself – so this feels just like normal. Although it’s a bit crazy. Crazy normal? But anyway….moving on….!

Next to Rita’s Cantina is “Smile” – which is a photography studio where you can dress up in weird costumes and get your picture taken…for a fee, of course.

I liked the giant camera storefront...that was pretty cool....

There was a prominent sign out front that requested “No Photos Inside” – which is something the people over at Britto Gallery could take lessons from (I’m just sayin’…..).

Then, we have Pets At Sea…which gives all you parents the wonderful (and costly) opportunity to let your Klingon design a stuffed animal…dress it (for more money)…and name it (which I believe is free – you get adoption papers).

I don’t know what the costs are exactly, but a basic animal is at least $20…and by the time you add a cute outfit, you’re probably not walking out of there for less than $30. Two outfits will set you back a little more than $45.

I will have to say that they ARE awfully-darned cute:

    I like the alligator....

After you’ve indulged in some crazy and wacky photos, and then created your new pet, you’ll have worked up an appetite…so the Ice Cream Parlor will be your next stop, naturally!

There are lots of flavors to choose from, and combined with lots of toppings, it’s pretty delicious! However – this is NOT free – so take note. If you’re looking for FREE ice cream, head up to the pool for some soft-serve.

This place also serves crepes, frozen yogurt, and sorbet…there are some tables to sit at outside to people-watch. It would usually open up around 11:00 am each day.

  3. Ok, you hit all the major attractions for me in the "Central Park" episode... (restaurants are a given), Britto, Central Park, and COACH!! "Hi, my name is Karen, and i'm a Coachaholic"!:D (There are rooms that look directly down onto the Coach store, right??)

Again, great review.... and I feel a bit guilty enjoying it considering you are taking amazing pix and doing this review for others, all on a bad foot. :o No... Wait... my guilt has just subsided since I just recalled you were on this cruise and I wasn't! ;)

  4. I just booked the Kon Tiki the other day! We were "done" with booking any more excursions on this trip (three already), but I read so many great reviews.... I snuck it in!:p Something tells me it's going to be the best excursion we have planned. :D

  5. My kids are 9 & 14 and get their own cabin. Mama wants quality time with Daddy! ;) :D Across the hall is perfect for the age of your kids... just as long as they know the rules and understand there are people next door to them, and those people will complain to security if they are not being mindful. With my kiddos, I am happy to give them the perk/responsibility of their own cabin, but they have to abide by Mama's rules.... and my rules are much more strict than the ships!

I say go for it!:) Just let them know they will lose their privileges if they do anything to lose your trust.

  6. Again, great pics!

Hey, I want to ask you a question, being the seasoned cruiser that you are....

What is your favorite ship so far and why?

Surely you've answered this before, but as a newbie to Carnival, I would like to have some insight on our next Carnival cruise (with hope!).

We live in Wyoming so no matter where the ship is stationed, we have far to travel, so location of ship isn't a concern. I am more interested in quality and fun factor; ports are not a huge importance.

Just your opinion would be greatly appreciated. :)

  7. Yesterday I stumbled across your b2b2b2b2b and found myself continuing your reviews into the wee hours of the night! I just finished up your last review and find myself longing for more! :o

Great photos, great reviews, and may I say, a fabulous family! Thank you for sharing!

We (DH & I) are taking our kids (9 & 14) on the Breeze in March and all I can hope for is as many smiles and good times that I saw from your family. I'm sure your family appreciates all your hard work and will forever be grateful for the lasting memories you help them make. :)

P.S. Our families are very similar... My son (14) is about 5'8" and 155 lbs, and seeing your son reminds me of mine.... bottomless pit! Gotta love those growing boys! :p DS is my wallflower whereas DD is my social butterfly, always comfortable in front of a camera and in public. She would be up on stage singing with your daughter if permitted!

  8. Still in awe over the beautiful pictures you took! I feel as if I've just returned from those places and it's not even 8:30 AM. :p

The escargot story made me chuckle... sounds just like something my kids did when they were that little! Very impressed with your son's openness to food... my kids are the same way. In fact, my 9 yr old DD's favorite food is sushi. She loves the fish eggs. :)

  9. Loving the review and pics - I just completed my review of the Breeze Transatlantic - see link below signature :)

Froufie, I read your review and enjoyed it very much... and you have the happiest face! I can't imagine people not always smiling back at you!:)

sailawaybellaluna, I commented on your review and for those who have not checked it out, she's a great photographer!

  10. Just got off the Breeze this past Sunday, and loved her! We used 2 old gift cards to keep the lights on in cabins - worked fine. I really couldn't imagine a more enjoyable cruise than the one we had on her. (and it was wall to wall people, as it was a Christmas sailing.)

So glad your cruise was great!

In addition to what I posted earlier....

One review said "he only reads the negative and that's what he will post because that's what people want to read."

That may have something to do with the bad reviews? Lack of people wanting to report/read positive reviews?

  11. Poor girl is not getting stellar reviews..

Higher expectations due to her being a new ship?? Perhaps we live in a society that expects more when paying less? It could be due to poor economy those who actually take vacations are expecting more for their money since we have to work harder for it?

    I'm spit-balling!:p

It seems that many reviews are contradictory... same sail date but one person's food was cold and bland, whereas another's will be hot and delish. One complains about no chairs by pool and another will say there were plenty. Long lines, no lines. Great staff, grumpy staff... To each his own, and I'm wading through the BS and reading between the lines.

My vacation will be what I make of it and not take others reviews with too much gusto. I like to think that I'm going in with an open mind and "forewarned" of possible bumps in the road, but until I actually sail the Breeze (less than two months!!), will I form my own opinion. I look forward to writing my own review, which I will be through and honest, and not let emotion overrule facts.
