It depends how much you drink. We are not big drinkers, a glass of wine or a beer with lunch, a cocktail at the pool , a Prosecco before dinner, a couple of glasses of wine with dinner then a drink before bed and the free at sea package is still worth it, because drinks are expensive on a cruise (at least for us Europeans) also you have the internet deal. Do a search for drink menus so it gives you an idea of the costs.

    Have a great cruise.

Thank you!! I went ahead and booked the drink package as it was extremely reasonable! Thanks it will be a great cruise!!!

  2. I have been looking at Jan 23 on Meraviglia...I constantly get the price of $1119.10 for 2 on a BR1  Fantastica balcony with "all in" amd OBC...

I have gone so far as to screen shot each frame and step of the faux booking and mailed to the email that was provided to me. I have been on the phone 5 times and not a single agent gets the sa,e price as I get on their website!!

Has anyone else had this experience?

The ships haven’t been crowded in the Caribbean since they started sailing.

We had 490 pax on our 11/14th Divina cruise. It was like having the ship to ourselves. We’ll be on Seashore 01/08 hoping for more than 490 lol.

except for the last two weeks when everything has gone haywire!

Those aft stairs on Divina were great for getting up to the buffet quickly for a snack or drink and no one knows about them.  They also provide a spectacular view if you can’t see something from your balcony.

The stairs and elevators you reference are crew only.  The closest passenger elevators are located by 10169 if you look at a deck 10 plan.

one other tip - if you are staying near the very back there is a kind of hidden hallway that is a straight shot from the elevators to the aft balconies.  It runs from room 10258 to 10394.  It’s much easier than winding around the balcony cabins.  It’s somewhat hidden behind a door by the elevators.

Great tip, thank you!! I will keep my aft balcony for this sailing but will change another interior aft cabin I had booked to be closer to mid ship. I like to be outside as fast as I can when I book interior. cabins!

Hammock is great. OK would you guys tell me the good and bad of an aft cabin. Seems it would be peaceful, but maybe hot with no wind.

The reason I like aft cabins is the length of the balcony...on some ships they even provide a lounger or two. Divina and Meraviglia have some similarities in that the higher up from deck 10 ( with deck 10 being the largest) the balconies get progressively smaller...

Also on Divina there are really nice exterior stairs at the aft of the ship....but I am learning that is not so on Meraviglia. I don't mind a long walk to the stairs and elevators but was hoping for a similar layout.

  7. I actually had the same thing happen and the customer service rep I had turned most of my credits into OBC...she said the balance will be refunded to the payment method after the cruise.

I have NO idea what to expect!

The aft stairs are crew only on Meraviglia.  The stairs are interior unlike on divina where they are open to the outside. I just got off of an aft balcony cruise and it is a hike to the midship elevator / stairs.

So the interior stairs and elevators shown on the schematic  7 cabins down are also only for crew use?

Oh how sad...... I book aft for those stairs 😞

  10. I bring on tooth brushes, tooth paste, deoderant, shave gel and lotions...but the one single most thing I get asked for is........Doritos!! Next trip I will be bringing several of the variety packs with me for ditribution.

I usually deal with my room attendant...and if its a male I ask himn to bring female products I have brought to give to someone in need..maybe even in the laundry depatrtment since we have no contact with them.

Hopefully some day these folks will be allowed back on shore...until then its up to us and Amazon!

  11. Hi you guys! I just checked my Jan 23 sailing and a 300.00 price difference. I have been doing all of my MSC bookings direct with the cruise line...many TA's don't even want to deal with teh customer srviec or the many pricing levels which has turned out to be fine with me. I'm pretty sure direct bookings get a different customer service number. In all my calls for changes, etc I have only had to call back once to get an answer I was looking for.

I will get on the phone tomorrow regaurding the future OBC and also will look into the double points!

At a diamond level do you think there is any reason to keep track of points?

    Thanks so much in advance!

BTW, I can’t describe how nice it was to have a hammock on the balcony. The Meraviglia is a beautiful ship but on sea days the pool decks were a real sh*t show and this provided perfect R & R.

The hammock is a brilliant idea! BTW, are there outdoor stairs that lead up to the Horizon Pool area from the aft of the ship?

Please provide source and/or proof of your statement..

Covid-19 PCR Test is considered “Gold Standard” in diagnosing infections.. No hospital or physician will rely only on Antigen Test. Antigen Test is for screening only.. Positive Antigen result needs confirmation by PCR and negative Antigen result (patient has symptoms) needs confirmation by PCR too since Antigen Tests are sometimes inaccurate.

We have seen symptom free patients with up to 4+ weeks carrying active Covid-19 virus. They are highly infectious and can spread the virus.

Does MSC have any sort of policy on place if you were to test positive for Covid-19 after having the virus? For example: if I were to contract covid 4 weeks before my cruise, am free of symptoms by time of sailing, but still test positive for covid 2 days prior to my cruise from the prior infection, am I denied boarding?

Do they have any sort of exception with proof of positive covid test within x amount of days? I know this is accepted for international air travel when flying back to the US and/or Canada.

It sure would be a bummer to come down with covid, recover, and not be allowed to go due to a positive test from previous infection.

Make sure you are testing wiht the Antigen test as it only tests for active covid. The CDC has announced as of Dec 31 they are stopping the NAAT and PCR tests as they detect anything covid..including a cold, the common flu which has disappeared, ect.
