  1. The wording in the e-mail was a bit strange.  We are booked for a cruise in March 2021.  I understand that the price will increase at the end of the month.  If I pre-pay before the cruise I will be locked into the original price.  Does that mean I need to pre-pay before the end of this month to lock into the price or can I pre-pay in January and still get the current price?  Thank you for the clarification.

  2. Actually with the exception of Norwegian this isn't much different than other cruise lines, even those with my time (any time) dining. 7:15 is a very popular time and unless you make your reservations early, you're out of luck.
I'm still a bit confused though. According to reviews the Seaside has effectively 6 dining times, none of which is 7:45. It seems like the website isn't built to handle how dining is set up on the Seaside. Also the one we booked is a year out and with fantastica we are supposed to have a choice. Any clarity with how this works on MSC is appreciated.

  3. Speaking of food, we ended up eating each night in a premium dining room and never ate in the MDR. We messed up when we booked. MSC has three dining times. We thought they had two so we requested early which actually means 5:15 which is just too early for us. The ship was close to full so they couldn’t switch 6 people. No worries.

We just booked our first MSC last week and seem to have the same dilemma. Both the website and MSC rep says there are only 2 dining times to pick from (5:30-7:30 and 7:45-9:45). Which do you pick if you want a 7:15 or 7:30 slot?

  4. I just booked our first cruise on the MSC Seaside yesterday. Before I booked I had my NCL account status matched to MSC Black. My husband did the same with his the next day.

Today I called my travel agent to apply the 5 percent off the price. She then put me on hold and contacted MSC. They were able to apply my number for the discount and informed me once my husband's status match went through I could call back for another discount.

I originally thought we would only have a total of 5 percent off per cabin (because we are both in the same cabin)... but they made it sound like 5 percent off per person. Does anyone have any experience with this?

  5. We were in Cabo about 8 years ago and did a whale watching ship. We didn't book ahead of time, just walked off the ship and went with someone at the dock. Has anyone done this recently? If so, who did you end up going with and what was your experience?

  6. Thank you for all the advice. We took my daughter zip lining last year (4 years old then) in Costa Rica. She loved it! I figured the parasailing would be an exciting new adventure with her. I definitely want to go up tandem from the boat if she goes. I will look around in Cabo. Thanks for all the great tips.

  7. Would like to take my 5 year old parasailing in either Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta. Does anyone have any recommendations or a place that will take you up off the boat instead of starting on the land? I know that they offer it in the states starting at five years old, but was hoping to find something on one of our stops.

  8. Any suggestions on excursions for a 4 and 5 year old? We did the ruins last year and the kids did love it. I know my oldest will not try cave tubing (we refuses to even get in a lazy river.) Thinking of a beach excursion, but don't want an really long tender ride. Any thoughts?

  9. Last year we just used the bottom part of a booster seat and plan on using the same for our youngest (who will be 3) this year. We used the booster in the limo ride to the hotel, but didn't use it on your rides in port. We will probably use it in our taxi rides as well. I know at 3 they aren't "ready" for the booster, but both our kids are on the bigger side and it's safer then nothing and a lot easier then carrying the huge carseat. Plus we can pack it away in the suitcase when not using it.

  10. DH and I got married in Cabo on the Beach 5 years ago, as part of our port day. We did the legal ceremony a few days ahead of time and I was so much less stressed because of it. Even though we already signed the paper, the Cabo day felt like the real day and is the one I consider our anniversary.

We had a group of 20, and the couple days before let the front desk know we were getting married in Cabo that day. They made sure we were on the first tender off the ship (even though we did not use their wedding services). We also had t-shirts made up that our party wore one of the day's, which was kind of fun.

I also got everyone a little beach photo album as a thank you for coming gift. I figured they could put their cruise pics in it.

Our wedding cruise was the best vacation I have been on. I loved the fact that we got to celebrate with our family and friends all week long. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding experience they had been to, and everyone that went had a great vacation! Best of luck to you.
