This is a journal blog. So in 10 years from now I can look back on it and remember what was going on at the time.

Absolutely love your photos from snorkeling off Kleine Bonaire! Thanks for sharing them!
Bonaire was the main reason why I picked this cruise. The snorkeling there is amazing!

I saw the beautiful vase of flowers you got in your suite. Ours started out beautiful and the flowers themselves looked pretty but after a week without the water changed in the clear vase they looked bad. Finally our stewards changed them. I am pretty sure we sat across from you in the PG for breakfast a lot in the morning. I saw that your husband had a boot. I broke my ankle once and was very sympathetic to his ordeal.
Luckily our flowers lasted really well for the whole cruise.
I found it interesting that we did seem to see the same people at breakfast and many were seated in the same spot every day.

I did my review in my blogger site. I always take too many pictures! I'm an avid snorkeler, so there are lots of underwater photos, too. Hope you enjoy:

We were on that cruise, too. I remember meeting you and your wife somewhere, but I forget where now. Probably one of the Microsoft classes. I just finished my blog with lots of pictures, too. will be putting it on Cruise Critic, too.

We invested in the shorter travel fins from Amazon that are much easier to pack. They've worked well in all the spots we've snorkeled. Not a huge amount of propulsion but more than adequate.
That's a great idea! I keep meaning to check them out. Most of the Caribbean snorkeling is calm enough that full size fins aren't necessary, but it's sure nice to have fins.

I, too, enjoy snorkeling at HMC. Not the greatest, but there is plenty to see---if you look for it. We've been there 4 or 5 times now and have seen different things each time. Once it was a huge barracuda---Barry, as they called him. A couple times it was the octopus. A couple times there were turtles. Every time I've seen schools of smaller barracudas. We also usually find schools of smaller fish. It can be a fun place to snorkel.

We did get out. It cleared up at 3:30 and we went right out. Ended up being a beautiful evening. (If we hadn’t taken umbrellas I bet it would have rained more!) The evening was so clear.
Enjoy your cruise on the Zuiderdam!
Thanks! Drove to Ft. Lauderdale today. Day after tomorrow we're on the Zuidie.

Hope you got to go out and enjoy more of San Diego's rain. Last time I was there it was raining and some of the residents apologized to me for the weather.

Looks like you're having a great time! Keep it up. And, yes, it's so much fun buying for a Grandbaby.

I still think the issue started before the cruise we are on now. They probably had to order a part or something so doing an actual fix this time in San Diego. It’s nice and warm here in Mazatlán today-sorry you’re going to miss it. Let’s hope the weather improves for San Diego!
see you on board
canadianbear---did you break the ship?

You only earn double points on a suite category if you orignally booked a suite category. For example, if you booked a Vista Suite and upsold to a Neptune, you still get double points. Conversely, if you booked a Veranda and upsold to a Vista or Neptune, you do not earn double points.
There is an exception to this - if you orginate the upsell by contacting HAL and paying the going normal rate to get to the suite category, you technically are changing your original booking to a suite, so you do get double points.
I was also told by someone from HAL that I would have to call the Mariner's dept. after the cruise to get the double points when you upgrade your original booking to a "published fare" suite. Has anyone else had to call for the double points?

We're disappointed to hear the screening room in the Zuiderdam will be removed after dry dock. I was hoping they would at least show some on the Lido screen.
-
I read on here somewhere that the screening room was going to be turned into the computer class room. Wonder if they'll show movies on the Lido deck?

Only been to Spice Beach Club, but loved it. Snorkeling was great. Facilities at the resort were really nice, too. For a better review of my day there, check out http://crusanwithsusan.blogspot.com/2015/04/2015-4-26-bonaire-8-5-eden-beach-spice.html

We were in cabin 065 in 2014. I loved it. No smoke problem. Not much noise. Convenient location. I have a blog of that room and the ship here: http://crusanwithsusan.blogspot.com/2014/04/the-maasdam-our-cabin-was-065.html

Can't wait for the Dec. 10th Zuiderdam cruise. It'll be our first time on the Zuiderdam.

No need for another sticky. It's always available here near the bottom of the page and is easily available via most any search engine.
I should have thought to look on Halfacts

Well, I'm not one to promote adding new stickies to this board but.....this same question seems to be asked by folks every few days. Perhaps there should be a sticky with just a link to the CCL shareholder benefit pdf? Yes, I know that it would have to be changed once a year.
sure would be easier to find then trying to find it in a search!

Here is the PDF providing explanation of procedures to obtain OBC....
Also there is another recent Thread discussing this issue at length..................
sorry, I tried to search for a recent thread, but everything Carnival was coming up. Got tired of going from page to page to find one on the shareholder benefits.

thanks for the info!

A few years ago, our daughter joined us at a port for the last 4 nights of our Caribbean cruise. We did have to send a letter and get it approved.
