  1. That would be totally your choice you know. You can eat in many different venues. You may be paying thousands for the cruise, but don't say you are being forced to eat all meals in the WJ. What an ignorant thing to say. If you feel there is so little value in cruising, why not choose another form of vacation.
Before you call others "ignorant" for having an opinion that apparently doesn't agree with the high horse you ride on, show me where I said this poster who wants to eat every meal in the cafeteria is "forced" to do so

  2. You are WAY off. We actually tip MORE than the suggested amount by the end of the sailing. I am in the hospitality business' date=' so I totally understand how hard everyone works onboard the ship. I personally don't see why I would have to tip the head waiter and Maitre D in the MDR when I don't go there. I would much rather that money go to the people that I do interact with and I enjoy the appreciation that they feel when I go out of my way for them...as many go out of their way for us. I'm not saying that everyone should do as I do, or feel as I feel. Just a suggestion. If you don't like it, there is no need to comment, just move on. Thank you![/quote']And you know that she goes back inside the kitchen and tips ALL the line cooks and dishwashers too.

Because those folks work as hard or harder for you on a cruise than anyone, get paid just about the least of anyone and would starve if everyone removed the auto shared tips from their bill

  3. They have just completed their 8th Broadway on the High Seas cruise in February.

Three more are scheduled for 2017, river cruises on the Rhone, Rhine and Danube and a brand new 2018 cruise around Iceland in July on the Ponant Soleal.

    Great Broadway talent and destinations

  4. If you are a Yank and you buy your liquor in the USVI, you are allowed to bring in 5 bottles PP without paying duty. One bottle per 5 must be Cruzan rum or some other USVI manufactured product.

The ship will take it from you and return it to your cabin on the last day before disembarkation

  5. Amazing

RCL screws a passenger out of benefits they negotiated with a travel agency. (Why? Because big TAs have power in the market and these benefits are more than made up for by added bookings)

Passenger posts letter to RCL asking for access to confirm benefits with RCL pre cruise so that their screwing of pax could be resolved pre cruise.

Other posters confirm they were screwed by RCL too.

In rush the usual RCL pom pom wavers blaming the OP, blaming the TA,. blaming anything and everything but SAINTED RCL...

Funny...I've looked at CC boards about dozens of cruise lines, issues with TAs and this problem only seems to be a problem.with ONE....EXCESS OF THE SEAS

  6. The major difference between PG and QG particularly on QM2 is in your cabin accommodation, more than in the restaurants themselves.

Larger size cabin and balcony, butler service, complimentary two bottles of adult beverages

The QG has a larger a la carte menu and you can ask the maitre d at lunch for just about anything for dinner and if it is on the ship they will prepare it

Top secret, though....if you ask the maitre d in PG for something not on the a la carte menu at lunch, you might find you can get the same service there

Whether you feel the QG is worth the extra 2K per person for a 7 or 8 day TA is your decision, of course.

  7. Haven't read all the posts. I see that many are about the cafeteria, however I can't say much on that since I try and avoid it and ALL the cafeterias at sea on all ships. After you pay thousands for a cruise I can't figure why anyone would choose to line up with a tray like you were in the High School cafeteria to eat a meal and then have to fight for seats.

I guess a place is needed in the evening for the blue jeans, cutoffs, sneakers and tee shirts folks who refuse to follow any sort of dress rules but still have to eat

My number one and only serious recommendaton for any refit is this

BOOT the godawful, tired, boring and mostly inedible Todd English off the ship and replace with the Verandah Restaurant as has already been accomplished on the Queen Vic

  8. Of the two you mentioned....Princess, but the above poster is right.......look at HAL. IMO HAL has the most comfortable bedding.

Since only Princess and Bumper Cars were the only choices in this quiz, Princess would be the clear choice. But I would agree that HAL should be included as a possible choice right up there with Princess, maybe even better

  9. Stuck with some table mates you don't like for the whole cruise? Forced to go dinner at the same time regardless if you ate a light/early or large/late lunch? Not able to make a last minute change of plans without being discourteous to your table mates? Thank heavens for Open seating! ;)

    .

I bet you love the cafeteria too...
