Our impression was that the bed was somewhere between queen and king (US sizes), my estimate would be around 175-180 cm.

    That would be pre-snoring 😉

The problem on the QE2 was that the beds moved too easily.

Apparently I was happily sleeping and snoring for Scotland, when my wife decided to push my bed away. I was conscious of rolling over then falling on to the floor with a thud and found myself between the two beds. Not happy.

    Sorry, but 😄

  3. Disclaimer -  First time booking on Cunard, usually a P&O cruiser.   🙂

Hopefully this is an easy one for the experienced amongst you - when the configurator says 'king size' or 'twin', are the bed sizes UK or US?

A UK King is 5' while a US King is 6'  - big difference.  I've tried Googling and board searching but to no avail.

  4. Well our 14 year old daughter will be somewhat gutted.

Favourite ship, she never used the kids facilities so not bothered about those, and like us she prefers the smaller, more ship-like ships and not the floating monolithic structures.

    Disappointed :/

  5. Hmm, DIY transport sounds like something I don't want to risk.

P&O have just responded to my query to say excursions will be available 12 weeks before departure 😑

A bit frustrating when the cruise highlights the race as a feature but opportunities to select tickets are likely to be reduced in that time frame.

  6. Thanks, we're looking at Tribune K and we got the email to say they're on sale.

We wanted to book the whole thing through P&O but we're not getting much info out of them.

I think we're calling into Villefranche which I think is about 30 mins away by road which is why we need to know whether they'll offer transfer only excursions or just full packages including tickets.

  7. Thought we'd check in with P&O as F1 tickets are now on sale. Very vague responses such as they're not on sale until 3 months before, or they'll email the events team

Does anyone know if they offer transfer only excursions if we bought our own F1 tickets?

I know we could organise our own transport but would prefer to use whatever P&O organise.

  8. Hi, long time lurker but first time poster with a quick question.

We've booked Oceana next year specifically for the Monaco grand prix. At what point do the tickets go on sale, roughly 3 months like normal excursions?

I'm used to buying my Silverstone tickets at 12 months out so 3 months out feels a bit close for comfort when it comes to choosing location.
